Migrating Triumph-LS to Linux OS

What if I have a usb stick that the LS can see when I goto import/export points but when i goto migrate it has a message "No usb stick detected!" It is formatted with Fat32 and doesn't have an active partition. I do have an option to make an active partition so I would think it doesn't have one.
It may have other partitions on it. you should have single partitioned, fat32 formatted and >16Gb usb stick. Size depends on amount of data we backup, so you may have 8Gb and that is ok. please connect USB stick to PS and open Drive Management to confirm partitions state.

okay. In disk Management it says 15.0gb fat32, healthy (primary Partition). It doesn't show any partitions like my C: drive that has 3 partitions. If its a 16gb drive I guess it has a 1gb partition. I cant find where to delete the 1gb partition.

okay looks good. But to be confident and IF you don't need any data from this USB drive on that partition, please delete partition and create Full Size partion on the drive. It should be a simple primary one. Then format it to Fat32 (quick mode is okay). When it is done put it into LS. connect LS to RAMS. I can run migration and see the issue if still present.

I have a unique problem I have not seen posted here. The Migration went as planned. The LS has rebooted and seems normal, with the one exception. The WIFI setting was turned off. I turned it on, but it will not connect. My router has a MAC address filter in place, so thought maybe somehow that was the problem, now when I go into WIFI settings I cannot see the MAC Address, Its completely grayed out.

Any ideas on how to get the WIFI back?

I have rebooted once since the migration was completed.

Maybe try going into favorites and Forget the network and try connecting again, re-entering the password.

Update. If I disable the MAC address filter, the LS will connect. So is it possible the MAC address got changed when the Migration happened. I cannot see it, so I cannot confirm or deny that happened.

Just for Information, I tried going in to forget the network, but it doesn't show as a saved network. From my previous posts, its got to be MAC related.

that is possible! MAC may be different. But you can see it on WiFi Adapter screen to configure your router.

Ok, got it fixed. Had to disable MAC Address filter in Router. Logged into wireless network, then I could see the MAC address in the Unit. Entered NEW MAC address into router, all is good now.

You cannot see MAC address in unit, if a MAC Address filter is in use.

Thanks to some good work by Eugene, I now have successfully migrated and restored settings and data!

I'm sure there are several folks reading this thread to see how the update goes for others before they take the plunge (Nate), so I would like to set the record straight on the source of my troubles. It appears to have been a hardware issue, but not Javad hardware. The instructions say to insert a USB stick with 16GB or more capacity. I didn't have one that size available, so I used a 32Gb microSD card with a cheap USB adapter instead. The USB connection was a little loose and the rubber door on the LS pushed on it. My computer also had some problems reading the USB adapter, so it was a sketchy setup. The USB drive would intermittently mount and unmount on the LS. As it turned out, I only needed about 1.3 GB on that drive anyway.

Kudos to Eugene for working quickly to get it going in spite of hardware issues on my end, and for thoroughly checking it out to make sure it was working correctly. There has undoubtedly been a lot of work that has gone into this update, and I say thanks, well done, and congratulations to all involved. It's noticeably faster and everything I've tried so far works!

Also for anyone curious about it working after the update. (Aside from my hiccup earlier...which they fixed)

I did the restore just like the instructions say. I see all my projects and it looks exactly like it did prior.

I have two configurations:
First one is the NC RTN. All those settings are there. Just measured some fixed positions with that in my backyard.

Second one was a base - rover setup using two mifi’s and Static IP. This one worked as well. No settings had to be messed with.

My entire setup looks to be intact.

One other thing Adam helped with.
- my WiFi was off also after the update and I had to reboot after I turned it back on, then I was good to go.

Migrated to LInux a few minutes ago. My projects were restored, but not my codes and settings. The units are meters and I forgot how to change to US survey feet. Did I miss a step? My LS is serial number 199.

I am trying to make the switch and am having trouble. I get to the archiving stage of the migration (over 70% archived) and then I get an error screen: "System error. Restart the device?" Help?
