ETA on Linux and Galileo

Those of us with only a T2, know we have to spend 10k or such, to get a new base, that can do it. So, we think in terms of 10 k, plus listening to others, so when the other constellations become available, and we hear them say "we love it, it works 30% better" then we will borrow the money from the cat....
But, if they say "I can't tell much difference", or it's benign, in Mr Javad's words, then we can wait a few months.
I have faith that it will be going like a locomotive, in a year or two. But, there seems to be a lot to this improvement. It's not just a face lift.
Also, I suspect that using the new sats, will be by degrees, not full implementation on first release. Also, the other brands that are using them now, are in the same predicament... They are also using them by degrees.
You never know. They may only be using them to make the screen, on the data collector, show them, but they are either fully benign, or mostly.
I'm more relaxed, because I'm not sitting on 10k extra.

You are right Nate. I bought the t1m in ecpectaion of Galileo.

I ran a Topcon HR and theylet me run Galileo for a day to test and see if it was worth upgrading......I couldn't tell any difference, however there were only 4 gal in view and 2 were on the horizon so I don't think it was a far test. More gal sats are available for viewing now.

I remember when topcon was selling Javad's products. They were Yellow, but they were Javad's products, with Topcon labels.

Trimble started an aggressive campaign that...
Russian sats reduced accuracy.
Javad did it wrong.
Trimble is not using them, because they don't work.
Etc.
I felt that Trimble did this as a business ploy. And... That in so doing they essentially were saying that progress was NOT progress, unless their name was on it.
I went with another surveyor, and he watched my Legacy E, in action. He was very impressed with Trimble's "pinwheel technology". But, told me that my Topcon seriously out-performed pinwheel.
Since that time, I have felt that Trimble's business plan was in the driver's seat at that company, NOT performance.
And, I have felt that Javad had performance in the driver's seat. And, that's how I became a Javad fan.

Sometimes, after it has a few epochs, with lots of time, say 5 epochs, and 400 seconds, and I see it start clicking, but it is not adding to any viable group on the screen, I hit U-1. My U-1 is set to "reset rtk".
This stops a jump fail.

I'm told that each time you repeat, (radio repeater), that you loose 1/2 of a band width. So, a t3, (1 watt uhf) could push to repeater, 1/2 mi away, but now repeater is at 6.25 band width.
So, if it could bluetooth to a 35 watt, at the base, (20' away) then, if hill shadow gets us, then a 4 watt repeater, for occasional use, could keep us in the green.
Anyhow, do we For sure loose 1/2 band width, with each repeat?

Channel bandwidth spacing does not change. It can and should remain at 12.5 kHz. Time division must be used with a repeater so the link rate will be reduced by half and only half as much data can be sent and received. Because of this, a modulation with a higher data rate needs to be used (D8PSK or D16QAM).

I am curious if it could be sent at 2 second rate and continue to use DQPSK. Of course once we start transmitting Galileo and Beidou corrections, we may need D8PSK just to get the correction pushed through in one second...

Mr. Javad could fix this problem if he would design and build a solid cell phone network without any dead spots across the entire US. I could start a new request/thread for this if it would help.
