Linux USB Error?

It seems like ever since I switched to the Linux version my Windows 10 desktop reports USB drive errors whenever I export to USB from J-Field. I get a "problems with this drive" message and a recommendation to scan and repair the drive. Every time I click OK to repair, and every time Windows reports that no problems were found. Thoughts?

I don't use a USB drive for exporting points, but I do use it for backup. I get the same message every time, with no problems found.

I have one computer with win7 and 1 with win10, I get the message with both of them, I just click don't fix and have not run into any issues. I was told something along the lines of Windows just doesn't exactly appreciate the the way Linux creates files. They are different operating systems, and windows knows those files were not created on windows.

Later we will add to JField possibility to unmount USB stick manually. It should help to fix the issue. The unmount icon could be added to the status bar of the Home screen for example.

I get the same error. But, I assumed it was the memory stick. (Win 7).
No matter. Everything still works fine. Windows is not "God". :)

Same here Jim, I tried to fix the drive and there is nothing to fix. I wince a little when I just remove a usb drive from the L.S. because I am used to ejecting them on my computer.
I like the idea of the unmounting icon.

I experience the identical issue w/ a 64GB SanDisk. Recommendation to scan and repair: then a message that nothing's wrong. Let's implement that "Eject Dongle" option asap!

This glitch continues to give me headaches. I export files to a thumb drive on the LS, Windows says the drive needs repair, but whether I repair or not Windows can't see the exported files. I can see them when browsing on the LS, so I know they're there.

The problem bit me in the field today when I needed to transfer some RTK positions to my data collector for use with a total station. I muddled on through without the coordinates, but now in the office I'm grappling with it again. Argggh!

I just tried exporting to the SD card in the LS and connecting to my desktop via USB cable. Same problem: the files are displayed on the LS, but don't show up in Windows Explorer.

Any suggestions on what works for you guys? I've been using Lexar and Sandisk, with no reliable luck. I finally got one of the Lexars to work this evening.

Have you tried the USB drive in a different PC? I have not heard of anyone else having this problem of exported files not being visible.
