Beidou signal B2B seems to be causing intermittent mischief

Nice work Shawn. I've seen bdu cause issues fixing but haven't narrowed it down to a particular signal. This helps cause when it happens I've recommended turning bdu off completely.

It seems very intermittent. Most days I have no problems, but on occasion I only get one engine fixes and I have resorted to turning off an entire constellation. Today I spent about four to five minutes isolating the offending signal which allowed me to keep working with the other Beidou signals.
Wish we had an online manual that might tell us how to do this...

Turn off one constellation at a time. See if the engines fix. If not, turn the one you just turned off back on and turn off another. Continue until you find the offending constellation. Turn it back on. Then go to engines screen and long press the engine that uses the most signals from the offending constellation. Touch a signal from that constellation to deactivate a single signal. See if the engine fixes. If not turn that signal back on and deactivate the next one on the list. Once the offending signal is isolated go to Advanced Settings, GNSS, Signals and Systems Tracking and deactivate the offending signal. Then you can use Auto Setup Engines and the engines won't try to use the offending signal.

John; this is getting more and more critical. I believe JAVAD has the best system in the world with the best support of any manufacturer of any equipment. But because the equipment is so good, so advanced, so dynamic and can be configured in so many ways; we must have a users manual that also is just as versatile, interactive and wonderful. I would think that the support team would want one as much as we do. It would save JAVAD money.

How can we encourage management to find the time and energy to implement it?

I'll have to give this a try. Since I got my upgraded LS+ back, the performance has been much worse than before, even in the wide open. It's almost unusable in the trees, even with all the leaves off now. It gets down to around 0.2 - 0.8' (between engines, can't remember what that's called right now) on the upper left box and won't get a fix. Then randomly it will get all 4 fixes and hold it strong for a couple minutes, before crapping out and leaving my hanging. With the LS before the + upgrade, I turned off Beidou and had much better luck getting fixes.

You should definitely have a support person, or perhaps whoever you purchased from look at it. That's not right. I've seen very solid improvement from Triumph-LS to Triumph-LS Plus. Is this with your base or an RTN?

Sorry - I should have mentioned this is with RTN using a WiFi hotspot. It's the same internet connection I used before. Maybe it's not the Beidou sats...

RTN with Beidou is tricky. I think there are some things waiting to be standardized. I'm sure the developers would like to see your data.

I believe that Beidou signal B2B may be preventing fixes in engines that are using that signal. If you find that multi-constellation fixes are difficult to acquire in the open, you might try disabling this signal to see if it resolves your issue. Advanced settings, GNSS, Systems and Signal Tracking.
Shawn, do you have the project with raw data with both variants: when B2B is On and Off? Could you send such a project to support?
 
Shawn: thanks for the practical suggestion about sorting out 'bad' satellites. I was wondering if this would also be helpful in tough settings under canopy?

In general, the processor will sort out which signals are best to use. For some reason this particular signal (probably from a particular satellite) managed to slip by.
