Recall Point in Linework

Hopefully a simple question here. Once I have completed a line segment is there a way to snap to the end of an existing line and start a new line segment?

Awesome! Thanks so much. I'm finally getting around to figuring out how we want to manage the linework with Civil3D. I'm trying to decide if we want to use the code to set the layer as you do. Most of our drawings are fairly simple and editing the layering isn't terribly difficult. My issue is some of our field guys don't do any drafting and it may be a bear trying to get them converted to thinking about the layering.

I took my first look at the "Find" feature earlier today. Absolutely love it.

In addition to just being able to start a line where I ended a previous one, it can do things like end an active line on any existing point/vertex. This means I can have a breakline I shot earlier in the day, and one that I'm just wrapping up, and instead of the usual "I'll shoot my last point of this breakline near the end of the nearby one, and join them up in AutoCAD" - I can just use Find to end my current line at the vertex of the previous one (don't forget to End Segment!) Although, it should be noted that since each line gets its own numbered tag, they're not actually joined. Not sure if there's a way to join lines, but that'd be handy.

Interestingly, Find can also be used in a similar way to the Review>Draw tools - in Collect, start a new line using Find to snap to a point, and Find again to snap to another, etc... Not sure if there's a benefit to doing that vs. just using Draw, but hey, it's there!
