RTK firmware supporting all constellations is still in development. We will let everyone know when it’s ready.

This is from the T2 data sheet, it states that it can track Galileo. Once the firmware is complete, is this a pay-to-play option that needs enabled inside the T2?

There is a big difference in being able to track satellites compared to being able to use them in the RTK solution. Most everyone is advertising that their receivers can track all the constellations, but how many out there can actually use Galileo, BeiDou, etc. right now?

Oh ok, I knew there was something I'd been told I'd have to pay a fee on :D.....I'll wager it'll be well worth it though.....
I went in with my eyes open, but hoping the upgrade fee is adjusted when it is fully available. Upgrade on the T1M is $2k. Which I could stomach if that was it, but those of us using a set of T1Ms for RTK, that is a $4k upgrade - kinda rough.
Also hope we can have a grace period, or like the old javad/topcon cinderella days where the option activates every now and then so that I can try it out first.

I suggest that implementation of the full Galileo bands should be a priority. Doing so seems coupled with the Linux OS roll out. There are competing makers out there offering the full Galileo bands. Any sense of when this might occur?

Implementation of Galileo is not coupled with Linux. Two totally different teams of people are working on these two tasks. Galileo is the RTK firmware team’s top priority.

I agree, implementation of Galileo should be a double top priority in regards to the L.S. When a potential buyer looks at the L.S. specs it appears it can use Galileo.
If the corrections are available on their State network and the L.S. can't use them and other makers can, that is bad.

It can only track the E1 band and not the E5A and E5B bands of Galileo.

Does it need to be able to track all of these to be able to utilize Galileo? Or will a different base receiver be needed to take advantage of Galileo once the GNSS firmware is ready?

Matt,
Once the firmware has been updated to use Galileo, do you know if that same update will make it possible to use Beidou in the solution as well?

I'm anxiously awaiting also. But keep in mind that other things are at work when we try to compare to other brands. The Key is going to be how all the constellations work together to achieve the best solution. For that to happen I think Glonass has to implement its new or modified signal. I'm going to guess that the JAVAD team is well connected to the workings of Glonass, and that there are reasons they haven't implemented yet. In any event, I'm betting when they do, the performance of JAVAD multi-constellation will far surpass that of the competition. I'm willing to bet part of the process is getting patents in place for developments nobody else has discovered.

In addition, the T2 will not become useless all of a sudden. It works excellent even in demanding conditions as things stand. We will have to wait and see just how much improvement can be had with multi-constellation. In challenging conditions will it change 3 minute occupation to 2 minute, or to 2 second? We all want it, but maybe we don't all need it as much as we think.

And, the T1m is not the only option. Two T LS can will be able to use multi-constellation base/rover I'm told, one T LS on network capable of it will be able to use it, and the new JAVAD receiver coupled with T LS will be able to use it I'm sure.

As far as I recall, its always been advertised as included (when it becomes available) in the T LS, an upgrade option on the T 1M, not available on the T2.

Well, T2, the writing is on the wall old friend! Ha, ha, just kidding, I love my T2. I am very curious about the upcoming T3 though... and like Duane said, how much of a difference will it and the other constellations actually make???

Exactly. If you are happy with the T2 now then nothing will change. It's just not the powerhouse like the T1M. I think the concept of the T2 is great. So much can come from that little green box. Can't wait to see the what Javad has in store for us in the future. Patience is not my strong suit. I understand something like this takes time. My request is while we are somewhat patiently waiting on this can Javad at least fix the website to where you order something it will arrive in a few days. The website still sucks! None of this payment arrangement days later and then shipping notice days or weeks later after that. How about payment with a CC when we order and shipped out that day or the next. The website and those terrible rod clamps are my only complaints.

Fine print.
I wonder how many are TRACKING bediu, and Galileo, and advertise that they track them, but only USE the L1 part of their signal, in their rtk solution.
