My J Tip looses connection all the time afyer I have updated to Linux. I never had an issue before. Now after the update I loose connection every few minutes. I turn the J Tip off and back on or the the Bluetooth to reconnect. Then in a few minutes it looses connection. THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING!!!! I would use my schenstedt but the J Tip is a better locator. I have unpaired and repaired, Reconnected, and turned the J Tip off and on again. My goal is to keep the J Tip constantly connected. Any suggestions anyone?

Thanks,

Clay

What color J-Tip has for the bottom LED in this case? Could you push "Support" -> "Send Log to Support" in the moment when the issue happens.

I believe that the issue has been fixed today in the PreRelease version 3.0.1.377

After talking on the phone with Shawn Billings. I clicked done after base rover setup. This stoped the LS from trying to connect via Bluetooth to the base all the time. Yesterday my Jtip battery died so that was a bust. Today I hit done after setting up and it never lost connection with the Jtip.

Thanks Michael and Thanks Shawn,

You guys have the best tech support,

Does anyone know why my J-tip wouldn't show up in my update options? I figure the ones in green are the ones I've purchased, but J-tip is still in grey.

I think it would show as purchased if the Jtip was purchased the same time as the LS. Otherwise it will be grey.

I just updated to Linux (late to the party, I know) and in the past had trouble using the J-Tip so I just went back to using our standard metal detector. Anyway after updating the LS I decided I wanted to give the J-Tip another shot however the directions for setting up the J-Tip seem outdated and when I click the A/V button there is no option for Bluetooth Accessories. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you, I completely spaced that you could press those icons. These are my settings. I'm looking to test it out today and I am retracing a survey done approximately 15 years ago where my company set 3/4" iron pins at ground level. I am just looking for a baseline I guess with which I can get a feel for the look and sounds of a "positive" reading.

Differential determines polarity using the two sensors rather than requiring user input. Z focuses on the signals straight down, making it better for working around fences, etc.

XYZ then would be better if I was going to look in the middle of the woods in a larger area? On that setting would my machete be interfering with the signal?
