Configuring Triumph 3 for use with LTE

I just inserted a new fixed IP verizon sim card into our new Triumph 3. Connected over netview and am somewhat overwhelmed with all of the options. Is there a guide for setting up LTE on the Triumph 3?

If you want to try setting it up with J-Field:

1. Create a general group profile for an RTN. You'll need to give it a bogus IP. Use port 8010.
2. In Base/Rover setup, Connect the Triumph-LS to the Triumph-3 by Bluetooth
3. Click on the Left pane (communication settings)
4. Click on TCP Server Configuration
5. Click on Cellular
6. Make sure that the cellular module is Off (If it is on, select Off, return to base rover main screen and hit To Base, then follow directions above starting at step 3
7. If cellular is off, then click settings and change the AP Name to the appropriate Verizon static IP APN. If it's a Javad card, use we01.vzwstatic (other regions of the country will have variations of this APN).
8. Return to Base Rover main screen and hit To Base.
9. Click on Left pane (communication settings), click TCP Server Configuration, Click on Cellular, and turn on the Cellular Module.
10. Return to the main Base Rover screen and hit To Base.

Remember to make sure that the cellular antenna is attached and that it is attached to the correct port.
If you are successful, the cellular LED will be green. On your first attempt give it a few minutes to find the network. You can click on the panel just below Disconnect and see the cellular status for the Triumph-3. Hopefully you will see the Operator show "Verizon" and the RSSI with an appropriate signal value.

I think that's all of the steps. Basically you want to make the change to the APN with the cellular modem off, then turn the cellular modem on. To Base sends the settings that you made, so when you click Cellular Module OFF it isn't actually turning it off until you hit To Base and conversely to turn it on you must select Cellular Modem On and then hit To Base to send the command.

Thanks Shawn, I'll start playing with it. I was having some trouble finding the IMEI number to register the device to Verizon's network, but found it after turning on CDMA under modem c. The new card on the LS+ is stuck on registering to the network so it needs the IMEI updated as well.

You have to put in an AP name for it to register. If it's from Javad it's we01.vzwstatic
If it's from your local Verizon store it's vzwinternet

That's right Phillip. This may be a good reference thread for APNs so to add to the above:

The APN for Verizon dynamic IP addresses in the US is vzwinternet.

The APN for AT&T dynamic IP addresses in the US is broadband.

I've got the sim card working in my LS, but I'm struggling to get it working on the Triumph 3. Our APN is "so01.vzwstatic" btw. On Net View I can see the state of the modem. I am configuring Modem C which seems to be tied to the cellular module. Questions:

Modem Mode: I'm assuming GPRS. CDMA gives me an error. Under modem control state I see registration and then I get a gbandsel or net error
Over in the tabs under cellular module, I have the hotstart mode set to on, the PIN is set to 0000. Down at the bottom I've got the vo01.vzwstatic set in the GPRS PDP Access Point Name. Am I missing something here?

You may need to update your version of NetView and Modem. I'm seeing some differences. There should be an option in the modem page for update firmware, which will give you an drop down option for radio and cellular, and under cellular an option for Generic or Verizon.

Dear user,

Could you please perform the following steps when you are back in the office? We will look at your problem and let you know what is going wrong.

1) Connect Triumph3 to charger and switch it On.
2) Connect LTE antenna to T3, take a photo of it and submit here in the forum.
3) Connect Triumph3 to PC through USB. PC must have an access to internet.
4) Download Javad GNSS quick support program from link below:
https://get.teamviewer.com/javadgnss
5) Run downloaded program.
6) Then simply email us the ID-number that program generates for your PC. My email address is v.tadevosyan@javad.com.
7) After we receive this ID we'll remotely connect to your Desktop and
you can see any our actions.
8) Leave the setup as is until we can connect and investigate the problem.

Looking forward to your response,
Vahe

Yes you did...my bad. It is much easier, however, I ran through it a couple times and ended up with a socket failed and the red bars on the T3. NetView shows a "gbandsel" error which is not outlined in the pop up notes for that cell. I appreciate your help!
