there are couple tactics can be used to detect the fact of stolen unit. I would not share it public. Your scenario has an issue that you should constantly enter PIN if unit is not used 1 month, annoying. Pros an Cons in any solutions. I think current FindMe service has more convenient logic for LS.Could be a rolling OAF like you have when you purchased the equipment through JAVAD that has to be renewed through an internet connection once a month, that way it would only be good for a month at most and be a brick after that. You would have a pin number to say punch in from the unit when it is connected to the internet to activate. Just a thought.
I have considered attaching the FindMe tags to my units. If something like that that was built in would be great. I can think of RAMS options that might work. Like you I see problems and downsides to all suggestions.there are couple tactics can be used to detect the fact of stolen unit. I would not share it public. I forgot to stop my base once before I put it away. Maybe that would also be a helpful reminder for the user.a siren on the unit that goes off like a car alarm if moved without being stopped
Instead of glitter they should use tar and feathers!I forgot to stop my base once before I put it away. Maybe that would also be a helpful reminder for the user.
Maybe glitter would be a nice touch too. Even if you didn't get the unit back, it would provide some consolation.
I thought about printing Bio-Hazard on mine!I sharpied ANIT_THEFT on my stuff... haha. Makes me feel better.
