J-Field v4.0 Modem Enabling Delay

When I start my base it takes about 3 minutes for the Modem Enabling phase to complete. I've been running TCP-only recently, and I don't recall if this happens when I have my UHF radio connected. All I know right now it that it's an annoyingly long time, and I'm wondering why it takes so long and what I can do to avoid it.

I asked the same question. It was explained to me that with the V4.0 it is doing so much more with the with the communications and settings with the radio that it is requiring this extra time to accomplish this. Mine generally does not take 3 Mins, more like 2. It does get longer for me when I change from internal radio to external radio and vice versa. Just when I change it. Next time I crank it up using the same radio setting it goes back to around 2 mins.

Commented on this before. Tried V4 when it was prerelease and have decided not to upgrade to it now due to that very issue.
For those of us that use only UHF, (or one of the other correction streams) why do we need to wait all that additional time? Seems that an option to just use the methods(s) we use, and not subject us to code "bloat", of going through the others.
Have a selectable option to select only those methods/settings we use and next time we start up use just those.

Jim,
v4.0 controls status of the base on start and delay in you see is the real time that our modem starts and broadcast corrections. So the user sure that base started and operational. UHF starts from 28sec up to 1 minute. You, probably use Triumph-1/1M receiver, is not? For other receivers it should not be an issue at all.
