Workflow with RTPK

Before RTPK we would always take two measurements on a found monument approximately 4 hours apart to have confidence in the location we are reporting. With RTPK it seems like a measurement with RTK that agrees with RTPK is a check in itself. Is there still a reason to re-tie monuments under a different satellite geometry? Has anyone had a bad position from a measurement that agreed with RTPK.

Tyler,
The only time I've had a bad shot that agreed was under very short occupations with no variety. Mostly around 30 sec. With variety higher than 1.5 and 2 RTPK fixes, I have never seen one wrong. On really tough shots I take a extra shot or two and let the RTPK process 3 or 4 times. I then feel 1000% confident.

Thanks for the reply. Do you typically re-measure points under different satellite geometry or is that not part of your workflow? We've always done this but it is time consuming. Especially if we can ensure enough confidence in one measurement.

When we first started running Javad we did. But I have checked it some many times and never found an issue that we don't revisit a corner if we feel good the first time. I really feel like that is the advantage Javad gives over other systems. With RTK, RTPK, Variety, and the ability to post process individual points there is no reason that you can't feel 100% about your data walking out. Of course there have been a few that I didn't get simply because I didn't want to spend the time or was making a total station setup anyways. But, in those situations, I was aware I had not let the system do its job and that I had unverified, sub-par data. But I have never had one I felt 100% about and it turn out to be wrong.

I basically have worked out what is 100% sure, (+- 0.07), and, what is not. If it's a critical point, shoot it 2x.
If accuracy is more important, 3x.
But, now you are chasing 0.05' or so.
So, I had this all worked out with T-2, LS Regular. Then, I've worked out what's 100% with T3, LS plus.
But, now, I'm starting over... Somewhat, t-3, with LS Regular.
It often finishes on RTPK, 3x, 1 minute.
I've yet to catch it lying, but, maybe I'd better go to 90 second iterations, or 4x at one minute.
