What I'd like to see at Javad and Company

I'd like to see Javad Co. Programmers take the LS to full maturity. Continue working on the software, fixing bugs, and making it all into a simple (where that's possible) and powerful surveying machine.
I'd like to see it continue, and eventually be able to put a whole job into a spreadsheet, so that we can see, and review jobs on a large screen, and can also see the jobs graphicly, with all closed loops, and interconnecting shots. To be able to DPOS jobs from the home computer, and work them with Carlson. I'd like an add on in Carlson, that allows me to review all screen shots for any point at any time, from inside Carlson.
I'd like the project to continue to expand and become the standard tool for all cadastral surveying. I'd like a generation 2 LS + with larger screen, but not as thick front to back. Rounded corners, and a built in bumper handle crash protector.
I'd like to see the whole survey program from javad reach maturity.
I'd like to become a salesman for this program, and to see the world of surveying revolutionized by this.
I'd like to be able to use least squares on closed loops, and to be able to add to these networks.
I'd like to see Javad go to a 5/8 x 11 thread pattern on all their gear. 1/4" is too weak.
I'd like to retire a from javad when I'm 92, a rich old fat happy surveyor, having left the world a better place. I'd like to see Javad integrate with an existing robot, or take j-mate to maturity.
I'd like to see j-mate mature. So that it has its own wheels, and can be driven like a remote control car, into a clearing, sets itself up, and operates as a surveyor-robot, so the user can use it on any construction site, both collecting data, and setting out corners, and construction stakes.
I'd like to see it all go well, and become the industry standard.
I'd like to see a drone lidar package, that allows a surveyor to complete 3d images, of the same site, and day after day, to track overall progress on any construction site, with volumes on specific areas.
I'd like to see it. And use it.

Part 2:
I'd like to have a version of the LS that runs on a PC. I'd like to see something called "office manager".
Here it is:
Surveyor sits in his office. He can see on his 4 screen computer, where 2 are dedicated to javad. One shows a Google earth image, or the like, with a little arrow. That's the LS in the field. So he can see the location of his field man.
Screen 2. Has a pic of field guy's LS screen. Field guy has a cell phone, with ear piece. Office guy can watch field guy's LS screen. Office guy and field guy can talk. Field guy can see office guy's mouse, on his field LS screen. Field guy is instructed to go to a field marker, and sets on it. Presses start. As soon as it is stored, the coord shows up at office guy's computer. Office guy does calcs. Tells field guy what to do. Office guy makes new temporary coord, and tells field guy to stake it, ( it shows up immediately in field guy's computer) and search. Finds buried monument. Shoots it. Coord shows up on office guy's computer. Office guy localizes with these 2. And continues computing, directing, and instructing field guy.
All from his desk.
This can allow one office guy to direct 2 or 3 field guy's, at the same time.
Seems like a good idea to me!
As well as allowing less trained field persons, to learn, and be efficient.

I miss the days when the engineers were on here interacting with us normal guys and as excited as we are to try and figure out improvements. Heck, I remember suggesting an improvement one time and they did it over night and there was an update the next day. I realize that not all improvements are equally administered.

My point is that it feels like a lot of our wish items were given some attention in the past.

Nate and myself were daily posters back 5-8 years ago. He and I suggested/recommended dozens and dozens of things now in daily use on the LS. Those days, unfortunately, are long gone I’m afraid. Thankfully, what we have now works very well, but it’s obvious that “things” are not even close to what they “used to be”. There’s no discussion of “what’s next “ or bug fixes. Just a lot of promotions on selling new stuff.

Eugene and all the others that are no longer around ……you are very much missed!!

I sure was disappointed today to find out my Triumph 3-NR that I pre ordered won't work with J-Field... you read that correctly! Ordered back in March. Just found out today that it won't work for base/rover setup with an LS+. I thought it was like a T2 with all the constellations. Guess not.

That makes absolutely no sense. That means all existing customers can't implement these products into the workflow. That basically like having 2 different brands.

I've not been following the forums as much as I did, due to work is crazy busy, and our current Pre-Release seems to be fairly stable. I still get times when I am in wide open spaces, using base and rover, and it will just not work. Those times seem to be around 2-3pm est., normally rebooting the LS will clear it up for the most part, so not sure what that is. Its troubling to see that things appear to be changing in our Javad world. I have not seen a new Pre-release in a very long time, does that mean that we are not refining our program any longer. I know in the past, we could ask for things to make our units better, and there was some dialog about what and how to implement them. Those days seem to have moved to past, and that is sad. I think we have the best gear on the planet, for what we do, but if we cannot keep honing our gear to meet the needs of our workflow, that is gonna present a problem.

Javad changed the way we do things, for the better. I sincerely hope that we can get back to giving input to the development team, and seeing results. I believe that is what made us unique. Javad Ashjaee was not the one following the herd, he was the one the herd was trying to catch. I hope that stays the same, but we currently have a bit of uncertainty, and the herd may be gaining ground.

Eugene, you will be missed. I appreciate the times that you spent to fix problems for all of us, I know of a couple of times specifically you help me. Good luck in all your endeavors.

I feel like maybe that surveyors have become such a small niche market to them that they have decided to focus on other larger geospatial clients with other uses that do not require RTK? The product lineup on the new site seems to appear that way? Even our sales guys do not appear to be excited to show and tell like they used to when Mr. Ashjaee was around. They seem to be defeated and in the dark. I hate that. I would just like to hear from the company in regards to their plans for the products we love. That would be a start. A while back, I sent an email to every email address I could find on the website; marketing, product guy, etc., asking for some insight. Crickets...

They do have a new news article about opening a new engineering office in Kentucky. Maybe this will re-energize the products and get us the support we need? @Eugene Aksyonov is well respected and we hope his family is well.

What we had as the Javad Community was unlike anything offered in today's industry and certainly the best way to move forward. Current leadership has not likely been part of it. My opinion is the interaction, especially through the forum, was a great accelerator for Javad's vision. The Russian engineers were not only responsive, but family.

Just to be clear, this is not the case. The LS+ will work with the new products as base stations.

This is possible now -- I regularly DPOS my files from my desktop.
Jim,
I used to send files to DPOS from my iPhone, but I have not done that in years.
I now send files from my LS+ and that continues to be an option.
Yesterday, I was forced to collect raw data in my T-3 and I wonder how one can send those files to DPOS. I have never tried this and have only been able to download them to my desktop. You mention doing this. What software does this for you?

Use the Javad DPOS website. You'll need to login with a Javad username and password; these are not the same as the Javad forum login credentials (well, they could be the same, but you have to set them up separately). If you don't have these, you can register here.

Once logged in, you'll see a page that looks like this:

t

You enter a project name, drag-and-drop or navigate to your files, and click the Submit button. You can watch the process if you want, or just wait until it finishes. The results will appear on the web page, and you'll get an email with a link to it as well.

You will be given some options to choose, in dropdown boxes, make sure that you check Justin as the processing software, as Giodis is currently down. The difference between the 2 options, is Giodis will use 8 CORS stations and from what I can tell has GPS only. Justin uses 5 CORS stations, and all available constellations from the CORS, keep in mind, some CORS have different configurations for constellations. Hard to what all will get processed. When Giodis is up and running, I process the file using both, as a redundant check.

This kinda got off topic, but necessary.
