35W Radio Emission Designator Code?

I've decided to get the 35W radio, and contacted my frequency coordinator about modifying my existing FCC license. I sent them the radio Data Sheet, but they replied that they still need the Emission Designator Code and weren't able to find it on the Data Sheet. Where would I find this?

Jim,

A couple of things; 1) which FCC form and on which line does your coordinator require this information? I never had to provide that information for the 601.
2) I've not modified my license, but if you already have a license, you can make certain changes online using your FRN account.

Has anybody bought one of these HPT435BT radios yet?
Does it have its own integral battery supply system like the HPT401BT?
If yes, how long does the power supply last at full blast?
If no, will the little battery kit that comes with the HPT404BT be an adequate power supply to last an entire freezing cold day in the field?

Kelly, I have owned a HPT35BT for a few years. No they don't come with a battery and I use a lage deep cell for its power source. The small battery that comes with the 404 wouldn't last long unless you used it at much less wattage. For our type of work I would not buy anything else.

Hi Jim,

I just did it. I recommend that you include all channels and possible power ratings.

I own the 1 watt and am permitted to operate the 4 or 35 as well.

There are 6 designators for the 35 watt unit.

I can look them up for you or if you are using the same service, then they can refer to my application.

Who is doing this for you?

I just looked at my license.

The power is listed as 35W with 6 Emission Designators (not sure if these are all for the 35 or if this also includes the 1 and 4 watt systems):

12K0G1D
2K36F1D
3K46G1D
5K64F1D
7K40G1D
9K84F1D

Thanks Doug. Is the large deep cell 12-volt a full-sized car battery and did you buy that separately at NAPA or some other local place?

kelly,
Yes deep cell are used for trolling motors and can handel complete discharge better then a regular car battery. I recently bought a small tractor battery but I haven't use it to see how long it would last.

Kelly, here is what Michael recommends:

There is an optional battery kit which is terrific. The cost of it is $450.

Also, come summer, you may wish to consider the base radio fan kit which is $225:

Hi All,

Here are the emission designators to consider when executing your UHF license application. If you choose to use Enterprise Wireless Alliance to complete your FCC application, they will retain this information in their files and associate it with your application according to the radio model specified in your application.

I am curious, EWA filed for my fcc license and on my authorization sheet the emission designator is 11k2f1d, which is not listed above. I have the 35 watt radio. Is this okay?

FYI Potential Power source. Handle and charge meter are nice. Very well built. About $90.
