Access to Desktop Applications

The Triumph-LS runs on a Windows operating system that comes with a number of potentially useful applications. However, the few times I've tried to use them, I've been stymied by the tiny size of the desktop fonts and icons, and the fact that menu buttons are so close to the screen perimeter that they inaccessible, even when using a stylus. Since there's no hardware keyboard other than the dedicated Javad buttons, traditional keyboard shortcuts seem to be unavailable. How can I make use of the OS tools?

At some point the I believe the OS may be redesigned to make Windows more useable. What features of Windows do you want use?

A couple of days ago I got into the field with imported coordinates and realized that the northings and eastings were reversed (!@#$%^&* Corpscon default format). I tried to launch a text editor so I could swap the coordinates in a text file and re-import, but though I managed to launch WordPad (or something like that) I was unable to access the File menu to open the text file. I couldn't even close the application, and had to reboot to get out of it.

(It occurred to me later that I might have been able to accomplish the swap via the import routine, but I never followed up on that.)

Also, since the Triumph-LS has Internet access and a screen that's a lot bigger than my phone, it'd be nice to access a web browser on it.

Those are just a couple of examples. The Triumph-LS is a computer, among other things, and being able to take advantage of that while in the field would be generally useful.

Thanks!

Windows Embedded Standard 7 has Window Touch. Eugene could Windows Touch be enabled in the OS without much trouble?

As there are some useful things you can do in bare Windows outside the J-Field, I'd like to note that swapping fields within J-Field is much, much easier than in Wordpad. Just tap column captions in import screen to reassign fields.

I was mistaken when I said the OS was Windows Embedded Standard 7 as it is Windows Embedded Compact 7. I saw this in the documentation for Windows Embedded Standard 7:

Is there anything like this we can easily do with Windows Embedded Compact 7?
