Bad Radio ID

This morning when I set up my base using the T-LS, I was unable to get corrections. The T-LS was talking to the base, and the T-2 appeared to be talking to the radio, but when I looked at the UHF parameters, it showed the base radio as a T-1 Internal. All the other radio choices were grayed out. After mucking around through different screens I was able to change the radio designation to the HPT401BT, though I'm not certain it didn't stay gray even with the button checked. In any case, still no corrections.

I rebooted everything, and the radio was correctly identified, after which everything worked fine.

Is there a particular order of starting and connecting the various bits that I should follow to avoid a repeat of this?

I have reported this same issue in the past. I find that it will still work with the radio set as the T-1 Internal.

Same problem. Experiencing a few days per week lately and adds about 15 minutes to my set-up time.

I get no corrections until resolved. No apparent consistent set of steps resolves the problem.

I am still able to receive corrections with the radio wrongly being selected and set as the T-1 Internal radio.

You guys have done this before.

Could you please list the steps for the an RTK set up with the new "BASE/Rover Setup Screen"?

Thanks Kelly, precisely what i was looking for. Has this doc been published?
If you mean printed, I think so, but I'm not aware of when you'll be receiving it in the mail. Call Michael Glutting for those details or maybe he'll post his answer in this thread.

Hi Kelly,

By published I mean released in electronic form. I go to great lengths to avoid hard copies and store/receive as much as possible in electronic form.

If you do not wish to receive a hard copy of the manual you may wish to let Michael Glutting know.

I finally got my LS to get out of Stand Alone mode an get a FIX, but, now my radio reception is only "Good", 66 feet away! Before it was "Excellent". One of my problems with the instruction is when you set the HPT404B to 4,000mW, (4-Watt output) the output does not show up anywhere on any screen to verify this setting. See attached

Also, I think you are suppose to "Disconnect" from Bluetooth once the base has been completely started, but this is not mentioned. I am correct?

Hi Donald, you are right, the screenshot you are looking at in the manual needs to be updated to reflect the correct values after To Base is pressed. The next update of J-Field should fix the issue with the output power not being displayed correctly.

Pressing Done in Base Rover Setup will disconnected the Bluetooth. This will need to be added to the manual as well, although everything will still work with the Bluetooth connection left connected.
