Bluetooth connection T1-M & 435BT

I have been running my T1-M with the external 35w radio, I can get up and running usually ok, however when I return to the base to stop it and download I run into issues. It will sometimes take three to four attempts to connect to the base, and once I do it often will not give me the option to stop the base, only to start it even though it is still sending corrections to the radio and the light indicates it is recording. In the few instances where I have been able to "stop & download" The status will say "downloading 00:00" and the time will continually increase, I've let it go for up to 45min without it completing. My only solution has been to shut everything down and manually download the base file once back at the office. Has anyone else experienced these issues?

On a side note, whenever I am connected to the T1-M and it is paired to the 435BT, the blue tooth indicator on the base/rover screen blinks red and green, when I am connected to just the T1-M and the 435BT is not powered up, the bluetooth indicator is blue.

I think this indicates that the T1M and HPT435BT are too far apart. The Bluetooth range for the Triumph-1M is less than for the Triumph-2 due to the magnesium housing. The range is also different around the T1M as the range is longer in one direction and shorter in the opposite due to where the Bluetooth antenna is inside the T1M, so 20 feet may work sometimes, but not other times because the T1M is oriented to the radio differently. Try moving the HPT435BT radio closer to the T1M when you see the Bluetooth indicator changing color.

Regarding your issue with stopping and downloading, I agree with Adam. Clearing NVRAM seems to fix this in all of the cases I've encountered.

Typically I've been setting the radio about 20ft from the T1-M.

As far as clearing the NVRAM, is that something I should do each time before I start the base?

It doesn't hurt to clear the NVRAM, but I typically only do it when I have some performance issue.

20' may be a bit too far for that one direction I was referring to.

Setting the 435 15ft from the T1M has seemed to help the connectivity issue, which way it is turned has not seemed to make much difference. Also when I stop the base everything goes much smoother if I shut off the 435 BEFORE trying to connect to the T1M with the LS.
