Clearing NVRAM aftermath

I have a T3 - LS+ combo utilizing the T3 internal 1w UHF radio running J-Field pre-release 3.0.11.831. (I see a new update this morning I haven't done yet.)

Often if I develop a glitch where the Base-Rover setup fails to give the correct responses I will go to the Base-Rover setup in the LS and reset the base's NVRAM. Then I will soft reset the LS.

When all comes back to life after turning the LS back on I would go to the Base-Rover setup screen and the left side with the UHF parameters would contain some red-lettered items that were in conflict with my intended LS settings. Then hitting "To Base" puts that all back to yellow letters and normal.

Lately I have noticed that clearing the NVRAM does not yield any red letters. Because I feel like I still need to, I push "To Base" anyhow and then get some red lettered items after a bit, at which point I hit "To Base" a second time and all seems to be as it should be after a bit.

I feel like something has changed here and what concerns me the most is, if the base is no longer doing what I want it to, that it is not giving me the red-lettered indication of that.

Maybe someone can chime in with their knowledge of this situation, thanks.

What version of Jfield are you using and are you up to date? There was a version a few months ago that was not actually clearing NVRam when prompted.

You can manually clear NVRam with the buttons on the T3.

Thanks Matt. I am up to date on pre-release J-Field though I should probably check my T-3 firmware. I probably should try clearing the NVRAM manually on the T3 to see if that makes a difference although looking at it I'm not sure how to do that. It's definitely been behaving differently than it used to, though.

So to update this thread my T3 did need a firmware upgrade, which I did, and now all is acting as it used to and as expected. Thanks Matt for jumping in and getting my noggin gears turning.

I, also, am trying to figure this out. I've only ever found a quick start guide, never a manual.
Just a couple of guesses. (1). Maybe try holding the power button and the record button at the same time until the lights start blinking, hold for a few seconds after they blink, then release. (2). Connect T3 to NetView Modem, I think you can clear NVRAM from there. I do not have a T3 so I am guessing!

Thx, Steve. I've tried both. The hardware method, produced no change. After downloading the Javad USB driver, the T3 shows up as only a usb serial windows device and wont connect to new view & modem. It produces the error, ""Receiver was not found or port is not in cmd mode." It seems like the T3 is is some sort of error state with the satellite button on and the position and record buttons blinking red together every two seconds.

Reset Triumph3 to factory state:
1. Turn receiver OFF.
2. Press <POWER> button and hold it. Check that <POS><SAT><REC> LEDs
turn Green.
3. Press <REC> button. <POS><SAT><REC> LEDs will turn Red to give
visible feedback of button press.
4. Release <REC> button. <POS><SAT><REC> LEDs will get back to Green.
5. Repeat steps (3) and (4) four more times, to get to five total
pushes of the <REC> button.
6. Release <POWER> button. <POS><SAT><REC> LEDs will turn Yellow.
7. The initialization process will start and will typically take about
2 minutes. After some time, the indication will change to <POS> LED
being steady Yellow, while <SAT> and <REC> blinking, alternating
between Red and Green colors.
8. Keep receiver turned ON till it turns OFF by itself, in about 2
minutes typically. The <SAT><REC> LEDs will blink Green a few times
just before turning OFF to indicate success.
9. Turn receiver ON using <POWER> button as usual
Thanks, Matt Johnson.
