Another suggestion that I have is to add a Rotation tool to the COGO tools in JField. Please correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that there is no way to easily rotate a group of points. I would like to be able to select a group or list of points (much like you can do in other COGO routines), specify a basepoint for the rotation, and be able to rotate the point group from an existing bearing to a new bearing. It would be very convenient if you could also specify the bearings by inputing point numbers to define the bearings. For example:
Old bearing: 14-16
New bearing: 27-30
I use rotations out in the field all the time to rotate a set of search points to existing monuments that I have found. Yesterday I needed to do this and my work around was to use the Localize function, but I think it would still be nice to have a rotation tool in COGO.
What do you folks think?
