I've started a short write up entitled: Getting Background Maps onto the Triumph-LS and am hoping to get some feedback from all users as to which color (or colors) they prefer to see for points and polylines when overlaid on aerial imagery.

This is also an excuse to test out the Polling feature of this forum system; first off, it is limited to no more than 10 choices. Accordingly, I've left more than half off of the list of candidates. If you prefer a color omitted from the ballot, feel free to write. Thanks for voting.

In CAD, my favorite color choices are yellow, cyan and magenta, as those colors don't generally exist in the photos. Your samples above still have me thinking those are my favorites. Wine Red and Blue also look pretty good.

I'm glad you are doing this. It is something I've yet to attempt in J-Field.

Hint: try out the voting mechanism.

The decision is ultimately tied not to looking at color in a PDF rendered by your monitor, but at looking at its rendering by the Triumph-LS; in a word, metamerism. And when printed, it's a whole other ballgame. For the purposes of the manual; however, I am up for whatever voters like.

In a PDF the cyan and wine red look pretty good. I like the yellow as well, however I find that yellow in AutoCAD is difficult to see with a white background...
