D8PSK is eating my radio battery...

Another change I have noticed is that I can't work a full day without hooking another battery to my HPT435BT radio battery via jumper cables. One job I did this week took me 7 hours (minus 30 min or so to DPOS) and right after I set my last pin, I couldn't take another shot and my radio battery was down to ±7 volts transmitting. So it wasn't transmitting much! My battery starts out at 13.7 volts just about every day before transmitting.

My radio already gets hotter than a fire cracker by the end of a fair weather/temp day. I couldn't imagine how little I could work if I connect a fan unit. Anyone else experience shorter batter life with the modulation change?

Isn't anything I can do but grin and bare it. Thanks.

Mr Lloyd, OVERSIZE your battery. For any thing that matters. For your base, buy either a big marine battery, or a 50 ah battery Sealed Lead Acid. All my autos get oversized batteries. Truck has 2 900 amp Batts. They originally were 650's or 700's.
Get a good computer trickle charger too.
You may save money and weight on little batteries, but there's nothing like having 2+ days of life in a base battery. I usually run at 4 watts, 12 watts, or 35 watts, in the mountains.
Supersize it. Don't look back.

It was sent to me from Javad when I ordered my equipment so I assume it is supposed to be adequate. I have a good marine battery not being used. Thanks.
