Delta-3 receiver compatible with topcon receiver?

I’m using a delta-3 receiver on a surveying vessel and a topcon receiver at the basestation onshore. My question is if I can send a script to the topcon receiver from netview (onboard the vessel) to turn off the receiver at the basestation to save battery? And then later on send a new script to turn it on again.

What script should i use?

Well, you *might* put a charger on the base station on shore, and now it won't need to be shut down. IF there is no power available there, put a big solar charger on it, with a voltage regulator. These solutions are probably cheaper and easier. Be sure that it's a computerized charger, that does voltage regulation.

How are you going to send a command to a receiver that is turned off?

There are easier solutions! An external battery 12 V battery. ;)

Thanks for answer. We are already using both solar charger and regular charger on the base station.Unfortunately, not so much sun in Sweden during the autumn though.... Sending stop-and start scripts when passing by the base station would be the best solution. Time is money

We used to be able to send start and stop commands when we used topcons software.. (picture shows the commands we used to use). But it does not seem to work now when using Javad receiver..

Also attaching a picture of all chargers.

Why not continue to use Topcon software to send commands to the Topcon base station then? Netview is for Javad receivers. Or you could get a Javad receiver for the base station and then Netview would be able to control it.

Have you already been able to connect the Topcon receiver to Netview? I could not connect a Topcon receiver to Netview when I just tried this.

The base station consists of a topcon reciever and a modem that sends information to the modem at the vessel. Which in turn are connected to netview and the javad receiver

Isn't there a power outlet that can be turned on/off by cell phone. The base will continue with same settings when powered back on. I cant remember correctly but x10 or an orvibo device.

Is that a DC to AC power inverter in the yellow box? If so, that is a very inefficient way to power your equipment. You should connect the 12V DC battery source directly to the base and laptop (check the AC input requirements of the laptop first) and your batteries will last much longer.

Javad USB has different pins on cable then old Topcon, so I could not use the newer Javad cable to connect to Hiper. I tried with the old serial-usb cable that I have, and use to connect Hiper using TRU, and it would not connect.

I did not think that this is what he is talking about, and I would not expect Netview to connect to older topcon stuff, but since I had everything on my desk I thought I would give you a second opinion.

The common lineage in the topcon/javad equipment does sometimes offer some hacks. For instance, I used to change the .jps files to .tps files and use them natively in early Tools. (You can't do that anymore) And Javad must have updated their file format sometime between my Odyssey receivers and my Triumphs.
