Yes it is related to radio range. How far from the base can you go with the LS and still receive correction from the radio(what size of radio, i.e.4 watt, 35 watt).
We have wide open areas in Nebraska and sometime control is a mile or two away.

I was able to get 1.6 miles yesterday using my 4 watt radio. That is the farthest I have been able to get so far. Most of my job areas have too much relief to get that kind of range. I typically get 4000' or so.

Using the 35 watt radio we are able to get 6 to 8 miles in forested rolling terrain in NW Minn. with the T2 as base and only using the internal antenna on the LS. I have yet to attach the rubber duck external to the LS. In the prairie I would bet you could get radio at a range that would produce very long baselines. Just as a test one time in the past using a PDL 35 watt we were able to get 12 miles with 100 percent radio and fixed, however I did not do any measuring because of baseline length.
