DPOS - GPS ONLY

On a related topic (please forgive me if this is an unintended hijack of the thread); are there clear written instructions on exporting a standalone LS or T2 session to CORS/NGS.

All GNSS data from a project can be exported by exporting a Project Archive. See pages 26-28 in the Quick Start Guide.

You can export a single file from Files > Collected With Points > select GNSS Raw tab > Context Menu > Send To

Files from the T2 can be exported to a PC using NetView & Modem (see page 38 of its manual). The Javad Mobile Tools for iOS or Android app allows download of files from the T2 and then direct submission to OPUS or DPOS.

No, what is the reason you would want to do this?
Some projects require GPS only, I have never done one but know a few folks who have. What happens if the user creates a standalone profile and simply turns off the Glonass? Will it still record the Glonass in the raw file?

Yes, you could disable tracking of GLONASS to exclude its data from the raw data files.

I have done this several times since owning the LS Steve - for different reasons here and there, and what Matt describes by exporting from "files - collected with points" is by far the easiest way to just grab a base file. Stick it on a flash drive, then attach it to the opus page and send it off....
Like I said, I've probably done 6 or 8 of these at different times with results always matching Dpos within a few hundredths in the horizontal - maybe up to a tenth in vertical....a lot of that will depend on the length of the session and the proximity you are to different CORS stations....

what i am after is to post process the data in dpos with only the gps satellites. I want to compare the results with gps only and gps +glonass with conventional observations. I am getting good results numerically with dpos, but i am also getting good results that do not match conventional observations as close as i would like and i want to see if gps ony makes a difference.

I am having a problem with DPOS or entry of data, when I enter the data to DPOS and leave the antenna to auto i get a closer field horizonal observation than choosing Triumph2, but the vertical is not as good. I had good results before using the DPOS parameters for Triumph2. Could it be a bad location?

Always use the antenna model.

Too many variables to answer regarding site. Could be. Also time on site matters a lot. How long was the observation? How close are the CORS?

I always check residuals at the bottom of the report. It compares each vector to the average. If the residuals are very high you have a problem. Remember that the residuals are in meters.

"Auto" reads the antenna model from the jps file so results should be the same. Can you attach the reports and raw data file where you see a difference?

Triumph2 itself does not put GREIS message for antenna model specification in jps file. So DPOS can not detect antenna type in "Auto" mode.

Adam, why would "some projects require GPS only"? State or federal requirements?

Patrick, I have talked to two of our users that had to do that for certain projects. I don't remember exactly the projects they were working on.

Are you sure this just wasn't a problem from some old firmware version that has been fixed already? When I test web DPOS with auto it correctly chooses the JAVTRIUMPH_2A antenna model with the Triumph 2.
