DPOS on Android

Is DPOS working in Javad Mobile Tools (1.2.0) for Android? I'm getting "Unknown error" on what was the result screen. The progress bar does not move on the Process Starting screen until it flick to the error message.

Also, when I send the rinex file generated by the converter, it is transmitted to OPUS normally. OPUS reports that the upload was successful, but I get a process-aborted email. Single frequency data and a line over 80 characters.

Steve, the current release of JMT for Android is 1.2.10.

DPOS
Regardless (v1.2.0 or v1.2.10) and as you already know, DPOS only uses .jps files, which are the native format for Javad GNSS equipment. If the DPOS submission is made immediately upon the close of the acquired data from the field, the IGS orbits' unavailability may cause the behavior that we (you and I) are observing. Specifically, I'm seeing Processing... hang at 30% on the processing screen and then, after waiting long enough, the DPOS Process Result screen indicates The IGS orbits were not available at processing time:
Screenshot_2014-12-16-12-29-01.png Screenshot_2014-12-16-12-31-03.png
As best as I'm aware of, the remedy is to wait; however, the exact amount of time for waiting is not clearly understood by me. The IGS data is most critical for processing the GLONASS parts of the field data as the GLONASS SVs are in a much lower orbit making their broadcast ephemeris undesired. This is the chief reason NGS gives (at least). This remedy has less to do with JMT v1.2.10 than it does for how the developers are handling Justin's implementations for DPOS. So keep the faith, they're working on this as part of some very exciting new features coming down the pipeline for J-Field.

OPUS
ABORT messages from OPUS are frequently seen for any number of reasons, sometimes, those messages are even valid while other times they're nonsensical. Often, waiting a day to resubmit to OPUS will result in its SOLUTION. This is true either using JMT or your browser for OPUS submissions. OPUS doesn't process GLONASS data and therefore the IGS ephemeris isn't required. Here again, the remedy for OPUS abort messages is often time.

Here's the abort message that resulted when I submitted the RINEX file via JMT for Android:
Code:
FILE: dirty1.14O OP1418751637716

1007 The RINEX dataset submitted to OPUS failed to pass an initial
1007 test for one or more of the following reasons.
1007 1. The data only contained values for a single frequency.
1007 2. RINEX file not formatted correctly.
1007 3. One of the lines in the RINEX file is over 80 characters
1007 in length.
1007

The exact same message was seen when the file was submitted using my browser. Personally, I am not convinced that reasons 1, 2 or 3 listed by NGS are true but I've got other things needing to be done before performing a necropsy on the data.

Thanks, Kelly:

How do you update Javad Mobile Tools to 1.2.10? My copy is dated 10/16/14, but I see no update in Play Store and if I uninstall and reinstall I get the same version.

Actually, I don't do anything. The update notice (from Google Play) is automatically sent to my Nexus 2013 tablet (Android v5.0.1). Once received, the behavior observed has varied; sometimes the update began without my intervention, but lately, it seems like I must initiate the update once it has shown there to be one available. Yuri may want to explain this auto-notification process a little better since there's more going on that is transparent to the user than I'm aware of.

Steve,
To get unreleased versions you should be a tester. Please send me your Google Id (your e-mail that you use for Google Play Market on your Android device) and I will add you to beta testers

The file of primary interest is over a week old, but only 14 minutes long. The OPUS-RS solution (from PC) was not too good, so I wanted to try DPOS to compare.

I found a DPOS report still on my phone dated 09/30/14, so I re-sent that file. I received the same failure message "unknown error!".

I received an invitation from Yuri to beta test Javad Mobile Tools 1.2.13.

I received DPOS results for all the files that failed in release 1.2.0.

I also see a new app in 1.2.13 to set up a repeater that I look forward to trying.

I updated to v1.3.0 a couple of days ago, and when I tried to download a file from my T2 today, I got a black screen and the app locked up. I'm running it on a Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android v4.4.4.

Hi Jim,
Not that this necessarily is the problem, but what version of the firmware on the T2 are you running?
Currently it is 3.6.0

There is a new version of the T2's firmware tentatively slated after the first of the year.

In regards to JMT v1.3.0, I'm able to download files off of my Nexus 7 (2013) running Android 5.0.1; however, I'm still unable to successfully and reliably calibrate the compass of the Triumph-2 using JMT, in part due to the old version (June 23, 2014) of the firmware on the T2.

3.6.0b3 (May 21, 2014) is the latest stable version, according to NetView. That's what I have installed on my T2. Is 3.6.0 (June 23, 2014) reliable?

Lately I've been doing static work, and because I process using TBC, I can't use my Javads -- TBC doesn't have antenna models available for the T2 or the T-LS. I've put in a support ticket with Trimble, and got a vague statement back saying that they'll include the Javad antennas in the next configuration update, but no estimate of when. So I don't have any T2 files to use with DPOS right now. :(

Does TBS allow custom antenna types? That's what I've done using Topcon Tools... though have yet to redo now with the new calibration data just out.

It may be possible for the user to add antenna models to TBC, but if it is the procedure is so cryptic that no one I've contacted -- including at least one accomplished programmer -- has been able to do it. The TBC help file alludes to custom antenna files and locations, but I think the help file is out of date. (I recall the same help file wording from TGO -- which had an extremely tedious but functional process for adding antenna models -- and I suspect that Trimble migrated chunks of the TGO help over to TBC without vetting all of it for compatibility.) The Trimble config folder contains an ATX file that features the Javad models, so I'm thinking that Trimble has tucked the access control somewhere in the Windows registry or embedded it in antenna.dll itself. Figuring out how to modify either is a practical impossibility for the end user.
