I am currently using Carlson's RT3's with SurvPC w/ESRI to collect survey grade positions for our assets, such as manholes and water valves. which works great, except for the fact that it requires uploading a static map to be loaded on to the Carlson each time someone wants to go out in the field.
I am trying to Test ESRI Collector App to achieve the same results with being able to update our GIS in real time, which would vastly cut down editing time in the office, but I can not connect to my receivers as needed. In the Collector app, there is an option to utilize an external receiver with an outside app such as JAVAD Mobile Tools, but the only way to connect to the receiver is through Bluetooth.
My question is:
Why is it that I can't connect to our 4 Triumph 2's through Bluetooth in the Mobile Tools, this is how I'm using the Carlson RT3's?
This would also help those who utilize a hotspot and an iOS or Android device with Wi-Fi only.
I have upgraded my receivers to utilize the Free app, which works great! But it could be better if we could connect through Bluetooth.
