ETA on Linux and Galileo

I did a test today. One gps/glonass receiver and one GPS/glonass/Galileo receiver.
I will not get into which engines were set to which constellations in this thread yet as that will eventually be hard coded. It was not super scientific as I do not have a gps splitter.

I am guessing I have the most stringent boundary profile of anyone of the forum. Confidence set at 25 consistency 20. 240 epoch with validate on with a minimum of 2 engines.

I ran them all day started at the exact same time and ended at the exact same time. The gps/glonass only receiver only stored 1 point that got all of the way through my profile. The gps/glonass/Galileo receiver stored 4 shots. The receivers were 4.67’ apart from each other and in pretty thick canopy. I still have to review the data as far as how long each shot took and such.

I know it does not seem like very many shots taken and you are right. I rarely let the receiver get all of the way through that profile. I have it set that way in the instance that I walk away that it will not store a shot unless it is 100% correct. I generally stop the shot with a few epochs as long as I have 240 seconds between epochs that agree.

Are we getting any closer to a firm date for this all to be moved to the release version where we can all use Galileo and Beidou?

Any comments from anyone who’s been testing on significant improvements?

I think y'all need to chill out and give the developers a break. Damn, you've got the best system in the world as is. We've got the Triumph LS RTK and the Victor LS T2. Enjoy the moment of station collection and relish the data you see. The systems fascinate me. Y'all sound like a bunch of brats wanting more candy ! Wow. Take it easy there Bryan. I simply asked for more updates and any testimonials on the people using it. And no, I wouldn’t call myself a brat wanting more candy(that is pretty funny though), I’d call myself a paying customer who expects what I was promised in a reasonable time frame. Being told one YEAR ago + that we’d have this “any day now” and still not having it does not seem reasonable. I just happen to be about the only one on these boards who’ll call that out. I guarantee there are hundreds of other users just as pissed as I am about this, they just don’t type it here.

The new constellations are helpful from what I have seen. The developers are working on a few issues that we've seen when using galileo and beidou. I'm not sure when it's going to go to release version. Darren, If the question is will it be worth the money to update the options on your receiver, I would say yes. Certainly. Then you can go to prerelease and give it a test.

Well, oops. I started that yesterday, and didn't finish. I only have the t2, so I could not use the new constellations anyway. However, those that bought the t1m, in anticipation, and "any day now" promises... Their complaint is reasonable.
I suspect that it is the difference is cultural. Soon... Means "minutes" "days" or "years".

Of course, I'd like my LS to do 2 dozen more things.
1.) From the inverse screen, I'd like to see northing difference, easting difference, and elev. Difference.
2.) From the inverse screen, I'd like to have a button, to "stake this line".
3.) From the inverse screen, I'd like a button that says "inverse to this line", and it takes you directly to the cogo function, with the 2 inverse points defining the line to be inversed to, already installed, and ready to input the point number, to inverse to the line.
Just stuff to speed data analysis in the field.
And then we can discuss storing point number sequences, for area, pre determined area etc.

Oh I paid for the update almost a year ago Adam.....and I’d pay for it a 2nd time too if it’d get it out quicker! :)I’ve used and pushed RTK as far as it will go for almost 20 years. I KNOW this will help, it’s just a matter of getting it tweaked now it seems. It’s not turned out to be what any of us thought I don’t believe with the limitation on number of signals and the processing required to crunch it all in six different engines.

I tried pre release two different times a while back and successfully got my system using Galileo, but there was way too much left to be worked on for it to be useful. I was spending more time switching things and selecting signals and it was costing more time than it was worth.

This whole process has obviously caught the engineers completely off guard because, if it hadn’t, I doubt we’d of been told “any day now” a year and a half ago. It’s quite easy for me to surmise that, once it did, a few things have had to “go back to the drawing board” so to speak and then, when a “1st draft” was put out, there simply aren’t enough of the PLS team to troubleshoot and give enough info required to adjust.....

Believe me, I understand the frustrations of all involved, but we, the users definitely have the right to ask questions and push for the deadlines we were promised. If some feel obliged to be “chilled” and “be the ball”, I respect that opinion but that doesn’t mean I share it. After almost a full year past the anticipated release of this upgrade, I’m a teeny bit past being chilled.

I am pretty sure that the Javad and Co team sees requests for expanded processes and services as a compliment and evidence that they are doing something right.

Unfortunately Greg, it looks like we still get nothing but crickets chirping on this issue. Been well over one full year since we were “supposed to have it”. :( I tried refraining from even typing this much....cause I don’t need to get started.....It’s certainly been a frustrating summer to say the least by us not having “all the birds available” to us for our work in the deepest, darkest of places we typically go.

John that is a good one. I like me some Peppa Pig. Darren thanks for commiserating with me on that subject. Though I have taken up John's attitude on this, It takes as long as it takes. Just more curiosity than anything else on my part. Once we get this we will just be licking our chops for the next new and exciting thing to come along. LS is is still running great the way she is, just hope to see that jump in productivity once the Javad Team works the kinks out with the new constellations.

Are you guys telling me that the new T1-M base I got yesterday can track Galileo, but not use it for RTK? I guess I'll have to ramp down my excitement level for a bit then - I thought it was ready to go right now.
