Exporting DWG with LS

When I export a dwg it uses codes as the descriptions. I use descriptions instead of codes, so all my points say "defcode". I looked for a setting to change this but couldn't find anything. Anybody know anything about this?

Thank you,

Clay

There is a setting that will ignore default code when exporting points. I don't have it in front of me but I think it's an option for drawings too.

I just looked and it is not an option since codes are basically layers. There has to be a code/layer. Clay, I usually export the points in a txt file where there is more options on how the points are exported. I only export linework in the dwg format. I guess it has to do with the type of office software I use.

I do the same thing. I just like to have the dwg. I use txt file for coordinates and dwg for trajectories. I use carlson survey 2015 oem. I was just curious it's not a big deal. Just something I had noticed. Thanks for the help Adam.

Points are exported as blocks in DWG files. Most all database fields including point description are include as an attribute in the block:

In AutoCAD you edit which attributes are displayed on the screen with the "BATTMAN" command:

To edit the symbol and location of the text you can edit the block with "BEDIT". Once you make the changes you want you can use this dwg file as a seed file for future dwg exports from J-Field.

Thanks Matt. I run Carlson Survey 2015 oem woth embeded autcad. BATTMAN does not work for my software, but i figured out in the drop down edit menu there is a edit attributes command that works. The cammand is "_DDATTE"

Thank You
