Fix / Float while collecting

With my upgrade to latest firmware on everything, the system is acting differently. Most appears to be for the better. It is fixing faster and in heavier overhead cover. However, when I try to collect a point, even in the open, it will be fixed during the count-down then go to float as soon as it hits zero. Then it will go back and forth between fixed and float for a while. Finally going to fix if it's open enough and collecting at 5 hrz until I have my point. It takes at least 3 minutes to collect a point, even in the open.
Any ideas?

It's by design. Verification can be turned off if you are in the open and don't need a long occupation. Also the time on site can be changed as well. This video is a little dated now, but it explains the verification process.

That feature is one of the things that sets the JAVAD in it's own world! AWESOME!

This feature is an automated part, that we used to do manually. Gain a FIX, and dump it. Gain a fix, and dump it. (storing a point each time) With the Javad, it does all this, to determine the right "Seed coordinate" then, it processes to refine this more, then it goes BACK to double check, that it has the RIGHT general place, then goes green, so you can store it.

Based on your original question, I'd suggest a phone call to John Evers, (or any of the 5 pls team) to set up some profiles, (it's best to get some explanations as you build these)
John was the one that walked me through it the 1st time. That's why I mentioned John. Besides, he's a great guy!

As you walk into denser and denser brush and woods, canopy, pines, etc. Your potential for a bad fix goes up, exponentially.
This environment is what you will need verify, and confidence, in. And it will need more time, to fully test it's answers.
I'd recommend multiple observations, in real bad environments, to "keep an eye on things".
The worst I have gotten, (difference between shots) so far is 0.19'. That's quite a bit. But, I would not know that, if I did not use redundancy....
Don't be afraid to ask questions. There's probably somebody, with an answer, somewhere...
