Gathering in Maryland

We got pounded down here in the Carolinas. Looks like the rural roads will be bad for a few days especially in the mornings. It's really messed up my survey schedule. I'm not sure I will make it to Maryland. It is still forecasted to rain Friday and Saturday there. Are the rest of ya'll planning on making the trip?

Adam,
I am still a strong maybe. Weather looks a little better. (It is a 4 hour trip for me.) I am also looking for how many are planning to attend and some coordination information. (Contact number(s), where are we going to meet, what time are we meeting, and etc.)

I don't know any of the folks from the other forum but maybe Matt knows some of their contact info. I posted that message on the other forum. I'm curious who all is planning on going. I haven't completely ruled out going. It really depends if I can get any work done the next several days which is not too likely with the snow and ice. 11 inches fell at one of my jobs.

I am more than 90% certain that I will be attending the event in Maryland this weekend. My only hesitance is the weather and that I am not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling that it is going to happen, how many are going to attend, who is coordinating, what time and where are we meeting.......

Like you I will be traveling Friday afternoon/evening. I have not reserved a room. At this time, I am planning on getting a room in Hagerstown MD when I arrive. I am open to suggestions, and would love to share time with others on Friday evening.

Matt will probably post the hard data and some pics when he is able. We were only able to compare with a Topcon unit. The R10 did not make it to the event.

No real results to give. It poured down rain and only one other person showed. We did some testing but limited due to rain. The person that did show up was running an older Topcon Hiper plus rover with a Topcon GB500 base.

We had 4 shots under canopy that was located with a robotic total station. All shots taken with the LS were within 0.06’. The hiper system did locate one nail within 0.03’. All other shots were bad fixes with the hiper.

Due to weather we plan on trying again in spring and will hopefully will have a few other participants.
