So I'm well behind the learning curve here, I am still using old computer with windows 7 and so never bothered migrating the LS. I do want to try the RTPK before free testing runs out.
Any suggestions on what I can or cannot do at this point?
Thank you,
John

one more dumb question, will I still be able to transfer data between updated Linux LS and my old windows 7 pc?

Although I sympathize with your desire for a stable product.... (Staying with an old version of software). At some point that becomes counter productive.
Be sure to update your T-2, to the latest firmware, and update your OAF too.
RTPK is super.
And, outdated firmware in the t2 can make the whole thing run slower.
I hope you move up, and enjoy it!

So i did a full backup, updated all to pre-release then did the migration today. Seemed to go ok. Did the restore but now very confused and stuck with no rtn.
I have J-field 3.0.8.424, GNSS 3.7.6.190416 Linux OS 4.4.190.11

I use smartnet and though I see the smartnet profile it does not appear to be setup properly.

Help! Been spending hours pressing buttons and I'm dead in the water

Mitchell,
Previous post: thank you! I was able to recreate the RTN profile. I guess my problem now is with the Sim card settings. I did not change anything and I did a re-seat and cleaning of the card and port but still having issues with nothing showing up with the configuration screen. (It was all working well before I did the updates).

Last post: did I go too far with the update? Should it have been the 416 version?

You may need to tap configuration and settings and enter the apn for the sim card. To use Rtpk trial you must be on the latest prerelease as Shawn said. The firmware version number really isn't important as long as you are using prerelease.

Adam,
Guess I'm having sim card issues. The apn is entered and it shows it searching, finding AT&T but not continuing to light up the rest of the screen. I can turn card on and off but the cellular data screens are grayed and stuck at cellular data off. Not sure what to make of it.

I changed it back to prelease 424 and the rtpk is back!

Was able to get it working with wifi connection and with the hotspot. So it must be the sim card. We were occasionally having problems with it but with careful cleaning and reseating it would work. I'll keep pressing buttons
Thank you
