HPT401BT Firmware Update

Gentlemen,

I am experiencing a significant problem.

I have the HPT401BT (1 Watt external UHF) radio that transmits corrections from the Triumph 2 to the Triumph LS.

Yesterday I came up with the brilliant idea to update the radio's firmware. I connected the RS232 serial cable between the radio and my PC. My radio had 3.2 Rev 4 B2 and the most current firmware is version 3.2 Rev 4 B17.

I ran ModemVU in admin mode, connected to the radio and attempted to update the firmware through the tools tab. I received an error indicating "invalid firmware downloaded then "please repeat download FW".

Today I attempted to survey a small site. The T2 connected to via BT however; no UHF connection.

This afternoon I tried to reinstall the firmware. After several attempts it worked without an error. I tried to setup again for a survey and no UHF corrections. Selecting the UHF connection box on the setup page results in a signigicant delay and a dialog box indicating "Identification of radio, please wait". After several minutes another dialog askds me select the radio from the list. After selecting, the processes starts over. The radio never connects.

Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this problem? I have resent the base set up and cleared NVRAM on T2.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm adrift at sea...

I powered off then on. Is there a particular process for power cycling?

Thanks Matt...this has me jammed up at the moment. I need to get this working quickly to remain productive. If I didn't do that properly do I need to reflash and power cycle?

Hi Matt,

Yes. Shawn worked with me for an hour or more and got it up and operational. It required that we un-pair, then pair the radio and T2. I also had to reinstall J-Field on the LS.

I really appreciate you following up. Thanks also to Shawn and Michael Glutting.
