HPT435BT Tx issue

Just curious if any of you have experienced this before? Nothin has changed in my setup and I use my radio 85% of the time. Battery has good voltage.

I can connect my T3 to my radio and send it the settings, but when I click start base, at the first bleep of the Tx light, it and the BT light both go out and it has to take several seconds to reconnect BT and it repeats.

I have it broadcasting now, but it never shows the Base ID? The BT is staying connected and the Tx is cycling every second. I'll try to pair it again.

It appears to be a bad battery. I tried to test it on load and my voltmeter showed it to be okay, but it wasn't actually transmitting so it may have been a false reading. I then noticed in my UHF configuration screen, that the voltage reading there was cycling between 11.5v and a NEGATIVE value... That made me suspicious and since my battery was close to 5 years old, I got another one and it fires right up.

I just completed a job using it on 35 watts and it was hotter than a fire cracker when I got done. It worked as normal.
