I want.....

To be able in the ls to easily make a point sequence file. Store a point sequence file. Recall a point sequence file.
A point sequence file is what is used for acreage.
Ie, point 1, point 7, point 8, point 9, point 1. To compute acreage.
I want to be able to make a bunch of point sequence files, on my home computer. And upload them to the LS. Or, send them back to the home computer.
Each point sequence file is a parcel of land. Or a lot.
I want to be able to EDIT a point sequence file, easily, in the field. (Here I am staking one of these point sequence files, and I search with metal detector, and find a monument. So now, I want to change point number S66, (that's S for search) to be point 1879, survey.
I want to be able to manage these point sequence files, modify them, and stake them, from stakeout.
I want to have a ONE BUTTON toggle, in stakeout, to go back and forth, from POINTS to LINES. In lines, I want to know how far BACK, AND FOREWARD to the next, or prev. Point.
In points, I want to stake points normally.
In lines, I want to know how far right, or left, to be on the nearest part of the geometric figure, defined by the point sequence file. I want to be able to hand the LS to a field hand, and tell him to:
Stake points sequence number 1, 17, and 32 acres, and be sure he can do this. Placing monuments at points, and and flagging or placing marks on the lines.
I want my LS to do this.
Yesterday.
Thank you.

I want it to also do curves, areas, and be able to swap directions, easily. (Ie, clockwise or counterclockwise).
I want in the curve data, while staking a curve, to give me station from PC, or be able to key in the PC station, so that the LS can directly stake from a set of plans. No conversations.
If I cannot have it yesterday, then last week will do.

Hi Nate, there are two methods that could use the features that already exist to accomplish this.

1) You use Pages to group and filter your points. You can have up to 10 different pages.
2) You can append point sequence code to your point names. For example you could have point "66 PS1" for point 66 in point sequence 1. Then just set the end filter for point names to PS1 and it will filter the points to only the points that end with PS1.

You can use the RAMS | File menu to upload (post #8) 'point files' (from your computer) to the TLS SD-card and then use JFIELD to 'import' as design points.

In addition, the RAMS desktop | Files menu can be used to download (post #5) 'data' or 'archived projects' from the TLS to your computer.
