Adam is very good with the TCP connection setup. Maybe it would be best to let him chime in.

Basically you get Static Ip address. You open a port in the DMZ on the Jetpack. Then point the LS to look at that IP address and the DMZ port, and after that its like having a radio everywhere you go.

We have put it in a cooler, with an ice pack before, especially in the summertime. Just put the mifi in a zip lock bag to keep the moisture from getting to it. or put in the shade, works too. The Jetpack should wifi range and that will allow you to set the mifi away from the unit a little distance.

Got it. Thanks for all your input! I'm excited to try it. Is your cell phone not as reliable on the rover end?

Cell phone used as Hotspot, eats battery life alive. Phone works in a pinch, but you get about half the life of a normal battery, when phone is in hotspot mode.
