Is my new T3 modem dead? Attn: cellular correction guys...

I have another post titled "Error! Connection Failed: Operation not supported - When connecting to T3" and as it turned out in my case, I tried to update the cellular modem, get this, WITHOUT a modem installed. That being said, I spent the money and the time to send it in to get a modem installed. I'm pretty sure that I had the unit up and going with AT&T before I gave it back to my other crew.

Here is my situation. My crew uses a T2, Verizon hotspot and Verizon SIM card I the LS+. I use it weekly and it works fine. I am familiar with the method of corrections.

I am trying to set my other crew up with a T3, internal static AT&T SIM in it and a AT&T SIM in their LS+.

I have not been able to get rid of the RED cellular light on the T3. The antenna is on the correct port. The SIM card works in the LS+. Thoughts?

I have NetView and can hook the T3 up to it. How can I test to see if the cell modem is okay?

From there, I got a static IP AT&T hotspot that does connect to their T3 via wireless, but I cannot seem to get my corrections through it?

It's weird to me. I made a new RTN APN that is exactly the same as my verizon hotspot, but with it's static IP.

What bugs me is that I can pick my setup for my Verizon (when it's on) and I get corrections, but the ones I made for the AT&T hotspot just show socket failed?

Do any of you AT&T guys know of anything finnicky I need to check or set?

If still not getting green light on the T3, then try this:
Go into cell and tap on tcp
disable cell modem
remove sim card
tap settings and set correct apn
re-insert sim card
enable cell modem

Sim card is not working with the T3 until you get the green light. And socket failed error is the indicator for issues with T3 communication; can also give that error if no cell coverage where T3 is sitting or temporary disruption in cell coverage.
If you do get green light on T3, don't forget to "send to rover" in base setup area.

That was helpful to know how to get that AP name to stick. Still red however. I used a SIM card that I know works in my other static hotspot and has good service. No dice.

I think a have a combination of issues:

1. I think my AT&T hotspot is not longer static. I can connect to it with auto DHCP with any device and whatismyip does not how the static IP.
2. I think my new modem is dead.

I can hook my old Verizon hotspot up to the T3 and it works fine.

I doubt the new modem is dead, but anything possible.
It should turn green. But if sim card not related to static ip, it will not work. The actual cards are no different. Sim card can function static or dynamic.
The hotspot working with it would not be a good indicator of whether the modem is bad or not.
Probably you should get on RAMS with your dealer or agent.

I did get the AT&T hotspot to retain and use the static IP addressed to it. But I still want my T3 modem to work. As far as I can tell I have the correct APN in the cell modem settings.

We looked at this last night and you don't have the OAF for the cellular modem.
They did find where I had paid for this, but they never sent the OAF. Unfortunately, I have yet to see a green light on the cell on my T3. It does recognize a modem now, but it will not show any details for State: and Error: as I would expect. The card in it works in my LS and should start up. They think the engineers will have to get inside and flush something out. This is the fourth day of downtime and now the weekend hits. Man oh man.

Just to give an update on this: I went into the office to connect the unit so the engineers could take a look and when it powered up the CELL light was green and it connected right away.

This is frustrating. The only thing I could see that had changed was that Javad had not activated the cell modem even though I had bought it and had it installed. That was corrected first, but still no service. Some days later, I was send an OAF. Still not working. I noticed the same day that it began to work that a new permanent OAF was sent that morning.

If you are having service issues with your T3, have Javad check these things. I thought it was a hardware issue after going to the shop. Hopefully you wont have these issues. My T3 is a Frankenstein. It now has the new buttons on the face, but the old antenna ports for the BT...

How has it been working? We have three set of LS/3 and I've been having the same issue. How did it get resolved?

It’s been working like a champ. But I don’t know exactly what was done to fix it. I think it was a registration issue on their end. The hardware was installed but it had to be turned on with a registration. I woke up one day to call them again and it was working. No issues now.
