Jtip fitted on a regular survey rod

I don't use the telescopic rod. It has sat in my truck most of the time. I like a 15ft rod, so I can get it just above my head or above the pipe canes I'm working in. I was concerned when I opened the jtip box and saw it wasn't a 5/8 course thread that every survey rod that I have seen uses. Anyway my rod tip has two parts (Its a seco, fiberglass, twistlock). I simply unscrew the tip (see pictures), add a couple of aluminum washers so the threads don't show and it works. Also I like the fact my bipod is above the jtip. No interference this way.

Hope this helps someone.

Man, that is one well-used J-Tip! Gonna have to take mine out and scuff it up. To think I've considered it a sensitive piece of electronics. Kudos to Javad for obviously making the Tip a beast.

@John Evers has retrofitted his carbon fiber two piece pole to accept the Jtip. He completely removed the pole tip and drilled and threaded the bottom of the pole with the 3/8" thread. It's a very sturdy set up.
