Localization

Trying to refine my localization skills (read that as newbie with many trial and error attempts). When you localize and are feel the residuals with it look decent you save. Go out the site and locate existing corners and control. Horizontals are good but verticals could be tightened up. When you back to localization to check some more shots you just did and add to localization, does the new localization a set of new set of design points (such 1 has a clone 1[2], 2 a 2[2] etc.) or does it just adjust the original points with the original numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.). the reason I ask is that trying to a localization do over, I ended up with a group of original (1, 2, 3, etc.) a group 1[2], 2[2], 3[3], etc.) and group 1[13], 2[2], 3[3], etc. I painstakingly deleted the [ number ] groups manually one by one and went site today. The horizontals were within my tolerances but he verticals need some fine tuning. I just don't want to create another group of points I have to delete.
Shout out to Adam. Been busy since brother Rick and I spent the time with you a week or so back. Thank you again for being so patient and teaching us so much about this great equipment. Rick is on vacation so using the time to push forward my field skills. Mike

Sounds like you are re-importing design points. This is not necessary.
So if I go to the localization and change the linked points and their status (NE horizontal, 3d or such) and save the localization on that page, say page 4, it will just adjust the design points and not create new points on that page? Mike

Localizations do not create points. Localizations just makes an association of one coordinate system to another. That is the nice thing about it. You never have to worry that it moved/rotated/scaled any points. They are always just as they were imported.
Understood Matthew. That makes sense. Shawn I believe you are absolutely correct on the re-importing. With what Matthew said , I believe I had myself convinced that needed to import again. Lesson learned.
Thank you Matthew and Shawn and Adam too. Also, Shawn your video on multi-point localization is book marked and greatly appreciated.
