LS running hot

I believe there was a disclaimer that the unit runs 10 degrees warmer under Linux. I noticed it immediately...

It also seems far more responsive.

Javad Staff: I work in environments where the daily temperature can exceed 100 degrees F. Will this be a problem for the LS with respect to useable time at that temperature?

As a side note, I've noticed that the unit overheats if the display is exposed to the sun (for example if placed in the bed of a truck with the display up).

I believe that the reason the unit heats up is because the heat sink is near the back of the unit and when the back is insulated (whether in a bag or laying on a seat cushion) there is no place for the heat to dissipate. I've noticed this for a long time as well. On a warm day, I recommend not laying the unit on its back for any length of time.

Kelly and Shawn are correct. I noted the temperature issue in the upgrade notes when I was making the decision to upgrade. My analysis was made after upgrading the unit while the battery was charging, something I never do. I should have known it runs hotter when on and charging.
