LS screen freeze

The LS screen occassionally freezes up to touch. Screen is still visible and the hard buttons still work but there is no response from stylus or finger. The only solution I have come up with is holding the power button for 10 seconds, then reboot. It happens most frequently after the intitial start up while I am doing something else (period of inactivity). This is my second LS. Both had the same issue. Any remedies or screen adjustment routines?

Press and hold A/V button recalibrates the touch screen. Any chance there were water droplets on the screen? Do the hardware buttons still work when it locks up?

No water droplets. I will try holding the A/V button for recalibration. The hardware buttons still work. The screen issue only ocassional and it is all or nothing, works fine or not at all. The reboot fixes it. I may go all day with no issues.

There was an issue similar to what you describe that occurred when being near the base, like about 100' away, after starting it. If the user didn't press Done before walking away the LS would get bunched up trying to maintain the Bluetooth connection. The solution was to press Done before leaving the base, however I thought this was resolved with more recent updates.

I only recently purchased a T2 Base and previously had been working off the State Network with a MIFI. The last freeze I had Wednesday was prior to turning the base on. I won't know if the screen calibration solves the issue until/if it happens again.

I just spoke with a guy having the same issues. He is using an rtn so the base bluetooth issue isn't the culprit. I had him calibrate the touch screen and told him to let me know if it happens again. He just recieved his LS a couple weeks ago and is up to date.

@Michael Stazhkov are there any crash logs available that might explain why Mark's Triumph-LS screen is locking up?
Unfortunately no.
We have prepared new PreRelease JField 3.0.2.1141 and Linux OS 4.4.167.6. Together they have fixes which can help.
Also in Linux OS was added recovery tool which can do recovery to Release / PreRelease / Testing versions through internet.

Shawn,
I tried your suggestion of holding the A/V button down. I did it Friday evening when Screen was functioning normally. Saturday I had no issues. Monday while the LS was on my desk in the office the screen locked up. I don't believe I remembered to try the A/V button. Monday night I had it on (and on) the table at home while processing a few points on the computor. It locked up and I held the A/V button down. It shocked it out of the coma and the touch screen revived. I have attempted to recreate this scenario for an hour, but it is like trying to get the repair shop to hear the same noises in the car. The A/V button may be a solution.

I dropped my plumb bob onto my LS. It put a small dent, in the LS, right beside the screen. Now, when the LS changes temperature, I have to re-calibrate the screen. 1x or 2x per day. Especially, after coming in from heat, to air conditioning, or from air conditioning, to outdoor heat.
It's need to re-calibrate varies with the unit, etc.

My LS is locking up when I go to map view. I started seeing this after the last upgrade. i Worked a small subdivision lot today. I had about 12 design points in the LS. I found three off them. Shot them all three times. used the multi point feature to average them. The next time I go to map view the LS locks up. I deleted the cluster average and everything went back to normal.
