Method to fasten t2 base

I've been trying to come up with a mechanism, to fasten the t2, with a cable.
Another user, drilled a hole in the structural casting of the t2. (I think it was Jim Frame)
I've come up with another method. But implementing it is not simple.
The 1/4" to 5/8"x11 thread adapter, could have a small plate attached. Now, screw the adapter, with plate, to the t2. Then, drill a hole in the plate, and thread it. Then, put a small stud into the plate, with the stud tip protruding up, to catch on the t2, structural casting, so it cannot be unscrewed. Add lock tite to the stud threads. Cover the stud head, with putty, to hide it.
Now, drill a hole into the plate. Now, put a cable through the tripod, tribrach, and finally through the hole in the plate on the bottom of the t2.
Now, it all can be cabled, and locked together. And, it can all be attached to a stationary object.
It won't stop a determined thief, but grab and dash will not happen.
Has anybody got a simple way to add a plate, to the 1/4" to 5/8 adapter? That's my problem.
Thanks..
