Micro SD card in the T1M

Has anyone used a micro SD card in their T1M and had it to successfully store the base files? My internal memory filled up again yesterday. It's only taking 20 or so files now to fill it up since the file size is so much bigger. I finally got a micro Sd card this morning and inserted it into the slot on the bottom of the T1M. I then connected via NetView and toggled to a spot where I could switch "memory to use for storage" and selected "external" as it was on internal. After this it did a reboot of the unit and I went back to the receiver settings expecting my used/total numbers under memory to be showing my 32gb SD card but it still shows only 256mb which is what I think is in the internal memory.
I first formatted the SD card to FAT32 and when that didn't seem to work I tried exFAT but still get the same thing. It just doesn't seem to recognize the card.
I was out this morning and collected a new base file and it still stored it on the internal memory of the T1M, not the SD card even though I'd switched the setting to external through NetView.
There must be something simple I'm missing here to get the 1M to store the base files on this Sd card.

Total memory and free memory are shown in the Files tab of Netview:

What do you see there?

If you connect to Netview again after starting the base is "Memory to Use for Data Storage" still set to external?

Also try recording a file using the record button on the T1-M and see where it goes. It's possible J-Field may be instructing it to always be recorded in the internal memory when Base/Rover Setup is used.

The files tab is where I was looking Matt. It said total and free was 256 mb, after I deleted all of them this morning. It said this both initially and after I installed the SD card then switched to external as to where to store. Only difference was there was an "ext" to the far right after the free memory number. I was going to take a pic but I'm home and not at my office and I've tried setting up Netview and running the usb driver update but can't seem to get it to connect to my T1M, thinking maybe it won't to a Windows home premium puter?? Even after running the usb driver update and it saying that was successful I'm still seeing the refresh ports or update driver message when I select usb for connection.

Where is the record button on the T1M to start recording from it? I just see the power and the FN buttons.

Depends on the version of NetView. Latest version is SER for Triumph-1 and Triumph-2. Older versions it was USB for Triumph-1 and SER for Triumph-2.

Make sure you connect directly to a USB port and not a splitter.

You need to pick the port it is connected to and then press connect.
I am connected directly to a usb port and when I press connect, after selecting the usb port in Netview, is when I get the error message shown.
The version I just installed was directly from the website - version 4.7 build 3.94

I'll just try again on my desktop at the office in the morning, it works fine there.

Well if this a new version guess I'll have to figure out how to get it to work for when I update it at my office.
I picked SER, clicked refresh and I have nothing IN the drop down for COM port.
What should it show since I'm connected to a USB port?
Seemed sorta simple to connect to USB, select USB and click connect. Have to wonder why something that simple was changed.

Update - Disconnected everything and restarted 1M and Netview, did the refresh again, came up with COM7 and it finally connected.

You should see a com port with a number when you click on the down arrow next to Port, such as COM5 or COM7, etc. Did your computer make any tone when you plugged in the USB?

Finally got it to connect to the new version of Netview. Thanks Shawn.
Here is what I see when I set it to internal memory, both the files screen and the parameters screen - I started collecting a file manually from the 1M before I took the screenshot
int par.png int rec.png
Then oddly enough here is what I see when I switch to external....pretty much the same thing. I took out the SD card after both these and neither file is on it. I also copied a couple files to that SD card then opened them to make sure it was reading files ok, it was. For some reason my 1M is not even recognizing this 32GB Micro SD card.

Did you reboot the receiver after changing to "ext"? It needs to be rebooted for the change to take effect.

Darren, try formatting the SD card from Netview:
  1. Backup all files in the internal memory and external memory
  2. Be sure that "Memory to Use for Data Storage" is "ext"
  3. From the Receiver tab select "Actions" and "Init File System"

While we are discussing microSD chips is there a limit on the size that Windows Mobile will handle?
Samsung has a 256 gig chip now and Sandisk has a 200 gig.

Matt,
I did all of the above, still no luck. After doing the "Init File System" and it still didn't recognize it I put the sd card back in my computer and as soon as I inserted it it said "disk must be formatted before using" .
I've tried formatting it in all the options and copied just random files off my puter onto the sd card each time and opened those files from the card so it is reading/writing files.

However, my 1M does switch to a different source SOMEWHERE when I switch from int to ext.
I had 6 files stored on internal memory (which it didn't delete when I Init File System like it said it would), then I switched to ext and there were zero files - still 256mb total memory in both locations.
Where is the external memory if not to the micro sd card?
