I thought I'd start a thread of it's own for this. This started on another thread.

Generally good specs:
1/4" x 20 threads. Good flat, solid contact with LS.
Good tight, strong quick release.
Good tight no-slack connection to monopole.

I like that one Nate!

I would really like to see an adapter made with the 1/4" threads which would replicate the plate that comes atop the Javad/Triumph LS poles.
That plate stabilizes the mount, spreads the weight of the LS over a greater area, and in my opinion makes the combined units much stronger by removing some of the stress from the threaded post.

If Javad could integrate something of this nature into their poles, I am fairly certain they would sell more than a few!

Seems like a fairly easy task to grind the threads down and then use a tie to re-thread the stud to a 1/4" thread. Would not have the chrome plating on it, but should last for quite awhile.

All it really needs is a helicoil, or an insert, to go from 1/4" male, (already on top of monopole) to 5/8" female, on the quick disconnect, and it might work together...

At Matt Johnson's suggestion, I bought one of these:

It is tight against the LS, and against the monopole, but the disconnect is too shabby. It allows motion, which will eventually cause problems.
Anyway, it's often a process of elimination, to get it "just right".
