Moved base?

I have had several occasions now when doing collection on the LS where we get a notice that the base (T2) has moved, like 30 feet or more. Crew ran to base thinking it was being stolen and it is fine.
Had this happen again in a remote location, no movement of base for sure.

This only seems to happen when my crew is working with the LS, has not happened to me yet.

You can turn off the anti thieft gaurd. The other parameters will notify you of any movement.

Yes. Turn off Anti-Theft Guard (or Anti-Thief Guard in release version). This compares the autonomous position of the base to the programmed position of the base and reports the highest deviation. It's the least reliable of the four tests we have for base movement. Best to turn it off. You can do this by setting a white box for Base Guard then clicking on the white box and turning Anti-Theft Guard off. You can also do it in Base Rover Setup by clicking on the communications window and selecting the Base Guard button.

Thanks, guys, will try that.
After I posted this I remembered seeing this posted before.
Once again, kudos to the awesome support here.

After being fooled by false warnings, I ignored it yesterday when the notice kept popping up. Got a call from my field crew who was also on site "Did you know the base slipped?"
By the time I got to the base they had it set back up again. It was on a tripod and a clamp slipped, whole tripod fell over with radio on leg and all. Still got satellite reception and great radio reception to the rover with the radio laying on the ground!
Unfortunately I don't know when the base fell and how much of my data was off by five feet.

Bill,
That's a real good reason for this feature to get "fixed", so that it does not give false warnings. Tilt of base should get priority.

There is nothing broken with this feature. If you are receiving warning from the "Anti-Theft Guard" displacement then you have the threshold for this too low. I always argued that the default setting for this was too low as it is just based upon changes in the base's autonomous position. This alert is also the least useful base alert and you may just want to disable it.

Too sensative.
Also, it would be good to be able to do multiple base alerts. Reset from the ls.
I think my favorite story was about a base tripod setup, on a pond levee.
Farmer came along on his tractor. Moved it out of his way, then set it back. He got it about 3/4 foot from where it was supposed to be.
What's a surveyor to do? The farmer said "I set it back, but not as close as you had it".
The base alert should be set up to default to that kind of event.
Of course, getting stolen, is bad, but the cows DO occasionally break fence, and those events happen 10x as much to me, as theft.
Wind knocked it all down one time.
I did a job with my dad a yr or 2 ago. My dad is hard to work with. I forgot to slide it over the point. Wrong by o.13'.
2 coords 0.13 apart. My fault.

Matt, if you have to turn a feature off, then it needs fixed.
Another way to look at it is:
"Base Guard" was well advertised.
And, the Javad support team says "turn it off".

These features already exist. All the sensitively levels can be adjusted. If the wind is causing alerts then increase the acceleration alert. The sensitivity of the alerts are adjusted from the LS. You do not need to go back to the base to adjust them. Just use the Base Gaurd whitebox or the base parameters screen in Base/Rover Setup to adjust the levels. Each value of the different base alerts are displayed in the whitebox so this is how you can view multiple alerts.

We are not saying to turn off all Base Gaurds. I recommend setting the Anti-Theft Guard to 100m or turning it off. In the most recent versions of J-Field the Anti-Theft Guard should be off by default.

I use 100 m and have not had a false alarm at this setting. Not saying it couldn't happen. The other three parameters will alert you before the anti thieft gaurd if something is wrong. But I still think it's good to have it on. If you are out and you see values increasing of acceleration then tilt then displacement then anti theft it's pretty certain someone is walking away with your stuff. If you see high values of acceleration and then tilt the wind or livestock may be to blame. My logic on this is based on the anti theft gaurd at 100m. I wasn't aware of spikes of such magnitude until we started testing base gaurd.
