Multi-Constellation with Standard LS - Tips for getting started

Glen, you use "Release" version. It doesn't have that setting at all. You need to wait for the new release.
Hint: by default Every button that has LongClick functionality has small triangle in the left-bottom corner.

BTW, Glen, Strategies configuration works only for the 4 engines firmware. For 6 and 2 engines it is always predefined. So settings will not affect any RTK configuration, in fact.
Do you expect to have same behavior like on 4 engines, what the reason?

Eugene, my situation is a little different. Our state Cors network uses all 4 constellations. I have tried the 2 and 6 engine firmware and in general it gets bogged down. The status screen might list one or more of the Constellations as being presently stong (low numbers 0,1,2 or 3), but the Engines with these signals may take forever to fix. The 6 solution generally works better in the open, but both get so bogged down that the old GPS/Glonas solution (on state RTN) is multiple times more productive. Could this have something to do with the long press settings found on the prerelease software? And is there any other way to adjust these settings on the standard LS?

Fairly open sky: Initial start w/ min1Eng Verif, Conf 7, moved fairly quickly got to confidence of 10, then went into pause (no data), It hung out there on float for 10 min then got a second bucket going for another 5 minutes. 17 min later it had 4 buckets (not resolved). I aborted. A while later, with no obvious reason, it was running through the verify routine quickly, and some times with both engines fixed. Sat. statistics did not look significantly different. Enclosed are a few screen shots in chronolical order. Typically it was showing 28-30 sats on Engine 1 and 20-22 Sats on Engine 2.

Mark,
I have been having basically the same problems with multi for a month or so. However I run Base/Rover and not network. I have gone back to using the old firmware and it out performs the multi firmware 2 to 1 or better. As far as I know I have all the settings correct.

Until the setting is hardcoded, we should also discuss the Maximum Signals and Maximum Signals Core 1 on the Triumph-LS. For the Standard LS (which this thread is for), I would set the Maximum Signals to 38 and the Maximum Signals Core 1 to 25. This limits how many signals are used by the processor. Too many signals will bog it down and you will see "No Data" frequently even though communications are good from the base. If you continue to see "No Data" interruptions, continue to dial back Maximum Signals Core 1 by 1 until the "No Data" interruptions become rare. Hopefully soon this will be hard coded and no longer necessary for customers to adjust.

The setting is accessed by long pressing the "Auto Setup Engines" button on the Engines screen accessed from the Action screen.
Do you use System Based or All the Best?

What about independent vs conventional tracking? Which should I be using? Is the one displayed the one it's using, or the one you want to switch to?

So if using 6 engine multi constellation, what should the maxi signals and max signal core be set at. I see Adam is using 30 and 30, but I think that was for 2 engine setup.

There is no 6 engine multi-constellation firmware. There is a 2 and 4 engine multi-constellation firmware. I use the 4 engine and use 38 and 33.

There is an easy way to find the sweet spot on this setting. Start at a low number and then keep bumping it up until it bogs down the LS and then back it down a bit. I would do this in the wide open then adjust in canopy if needed. If you see "no data" frequently and a lot of black x's in the engine screen you need to bump it down.

You must be running the LS Plus, in the standard LS there is a 6 engine multi-constellation selection. We have a Standard LS that has been sent to be upgraded, so we still are running standard LS units until our other units get back.
