NC RTN has added Galileo & BeiDou to their data stream....

It has been turned on for about two weeks and is undergoing testing. I am awaiting mount point information from the NC Geodetic Survey.

Now that it is available, is there an instruction sheet or playbook for making all the necessary changes to my LS to add the new constellations. I will probably need the step by step instruction manual for dummies to keep me out of trouble. I am approaching the limit of my pay grade.

Hey Charles, Bart Alligood sent me the mount points yesterday. I have connected to it and taken a few shots but haven't had to the chance to really use it. I think all you need to do is change the rtk firmware to the 2 or 6 engine multi constellation under the advanced rtk settings or by tapping the engine icon in the action screen. Use the RTX_RTCM3 mountpoint.

I hope the NC VRS works better with these added satellites than MN's does. I'm really struggling to get shots and often finding myself switching to the old 6x GPS+GLO settings to get shots. It's been pretty disappointing so far, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone using MN VRS has had similar trouble.

Sorry to hijack the discussion.

Adam: I received this information from Bart this morning.

The two mountpoint names are VRS_RTX_CMRx and VRS_RTX_RTCM32, but to see them you have to connect to port 2102 at rtn.nc.gov. We are still testing these mountpoints so don’t use them for any important jobs. Once we know the mountpoints are working as they should, we will move them to port 2101 for all RTN users to use.

I guess the CMRx is for people using Trimble equipment & the RTCM is for the great unwashed rest of us.

As of today, June 1, 2020, the VRS_CMRx and VRS_RTCM32 mountpoints have been configured to include the Galileo and BeiDou satellite data into the correction solution to NC RTN users. CMRx and RTCM 3.2 are the only versions of the output formats the NC RTN has available for the mountpoints that support the Galileo and BeiDou satellite data. The other mountpoints (VRS_CMRp, VRS_RTCM23, VRS_RTCM3) will still include only the GPS and GLONASS satellite data in the solution. Although the VRS_CMRx and VRS_RTCM32 mountpoints are now configured to include the Galileo and BeiDou satellite data, users may not receive any BeiDou satellite correction data because the NC RTN application can’t process the data from the latest BeiDou satellites (BeiDou-3) yet.
