I’m having trouble launching NetView (x64) on my Windows 11 machine. When I start the program, I receive the following error:
“The invocation of the constructor on type ‘NetView_Modem.MainWindow’ that matches the specified binding constraints threw an exception.”
This happened to me once years ago, and at that time it was caused by a driver issue. Since I’m on a newer Windows 11 system now, I suspect this may again be related to USB/serial drivers.
Here are my system details:
  • Windows version: Windows 11 (x64)
  • NetView version: NetView x64
  • Receiver model: Triumph 2
Troubleshooting attempted:
  • Reinstalled NetView x64
  • Installed/updated USB drivers
  • Tried launching with and without the receiver connected
If helpful, I can provide the Event Viewer crash logs or screenshots.
Could you advise which drivers or configuration are required for proper operation on Windows 11, or if there is a known compatibility workaround?

NetView does not, in of itself require, any ‘drivers’ to run the application in the Windows OS environment.
Do you have Windows Administrator Rights for your computer ?

Once installed, the JAVAD NetView application uses the serial USB and Bluetooth ports 'drivers' as available in the Windows OS.

I've tried 2 different USB cables from receiver to computer. then turned receiver on. No luck.
Have tried to install the JAVAD GNSS USB driver. Not having any luck there. What next?

Try to the following steps:
  1. Turn the receiver on
  2. Then connect the receiver to the computer using the JAVAD provided USB Cable, A / micro B, (1.00m), p/n 14-578156-01.
  3. Go to your Device Manager. You can use the Window’s Search function to open the Device Manager (see below)
  4. Then look in the Ports list to see if you have a GNSS Receiver connected via USB.
  5. In the example below the TRIUMPH GNSS is connected on Communication Port 27 (COM27).

Then in NetView you should be able to connect to your GNSS Receiver via USB on COM27, after refresh.
