no base time tag error or too old base data

I lose the radio intermittently - I had it work for 5 hours today with no issue
Drove to the next site and was stuck with the grey CDF on the collection screen
It would blink to float or fix once in a while and then be gone
open sky close to base (T-1) - also give me a "too strong a signal" error at times

I assume I have a bad setting somewhere - I have this up on rams under KWL SN00894

I have the LS connected to the base

Thanx in advance for any help, ken

It appears base was started with a coordinate that is too far from its actual location as indicated by the red deltas:

The base needs to be started from an autonomous position or known coordinate that is correct.

Ok, I cleared the NVRAM on the base and restarted the LS and it is working. If there is an issue with the base you should try clearing the NVRAM.

I have the issue even when they are hundreds of feet apart

You should never get “signal strength too high” if they are far apart. What issue are you referring too? I would need to see the UHF status screen to know what the problem might be.

I wish I could make it happen, but I can not - the radio will just randomly drop out and the ls collection screen will go to CDF

2nd job today I relocated the base twice and still could not get past CDF for more than a second or two

attached is an image of screen

thanx for looking at it

I just looked at it again. Your problem appears to be that you had the wrong modulation selected for RTCM 3.2 MSM3 Short format. It was set to DQPSK when it should be D8PSK.

nice - I appreciate your time and diligence - not sure when it got changed - I do not get to creative with these settings - maybe a tree branch grabbed it at some point - I will call it good for the night and charge it up for the AM - thanx again
