No sound

Not yet, I am still working, trying to finish up a job. I will be able to in a little while. It is intermittent, mostly no sound then a little sound for a few seconds, then no sound again.

Adam, it could be a hardware failure in the sound board. If a reboot doesn't fix it, we may be looking at an RMA. Let us know and we'll get you taken care of.

I tried the hard reboot when I got in this evening, it worked, I had sound for about a minute.

I think the repair time frame is usually only a day or two so most of the time would be the shipping. I would suggest trying a forced update of the OS and then a factory recovery if that doesn't work before considering a RMA.

Thanks, Matt. I had trouble with the camera today. It wouldn't take a picture. Also all the buttons responded slowly, like it's thinkin real hard, but not getting any ideas. I am going to do the forced update tonight. I can probably remember how to do that. How do I go about the factory recovery? Do I try the first before doing the latter to see if the first fixs it or do I do them one right after the other?

Do forced update first. If you have to do factory recovery, back up everything. It wipes the LS clean. A restore from back up will recall your projects and settings. Back up and restore from back up are found under Files.

To be clear, see if forced update fixes the issue. If not, then download factory restore disk from Javad's website under triumph LS.

I don't advocate for this. I don't think it solves as many problems as it creates.

Mine had sound fail too. Since mine was less than 30 days old, they sent me another one. They asked me if I wanted mine back, or keep the replacement... I said I did not care. The one I had was # 495, the one I now have is # 435. I'd really like it if they installed a whole sound system, so I can hear it above the bulldozers, but there might not be room inside for a Sub woofer! :) I do have this to ask: How many of you run yours with sound ALL THE WAY up? I do. My ears are poor. I suspect that everybody else does too.... indicating the possible or likely need for more volume.

Shawn, I updated the other day to the new OS update. I have sound at boot up but then nothing. Every now and then I will hear a click or two, then nothing. I am doing a forced update again right now but it probably won't fix it. So I probably need to send it in. I have those little cracks in my t2 that I want to get fixed at the same time. I havent done the factory restore yet though. Should I try that? What do I need to do to get this rollin.

Hey Adam,
Send an email to rma at javad dot com

Give some details on the issues you are having, the serial number for the LS and Triumph-2 and your contact information.

If you don't mind CC me in that email just so I can help things along if necessary. Probably won't be necessary, but I may be able to add details as needed.

Will a full backup save all my setups, codes, etc?

Forced update did not work this time either. I would like to send it out and possibly be able to get it back by the week after Christmas. Do you think that is possible? How should I ship it?

Yes. That's right. Before you send it in, you will want to do a full backup. Home>Files>Full Backup and Restore. Maybe even twice. Just to be safe, I'd also Archive your projects. Those projects are stored in the Full Backup you'll be creating, and while the full backup procedure is remarkably reliable, I wouldn't chance something like field data. The receiver will come back to you wiped clean.
