Our compass actually uses the World Magnetic Model to correct for magnetic declination. I'm sure once they release a new one it will be added to the software by update.

Here is another article, looks like the new Model will be released Jan 30th of 2019, according the the article a year earlier than expected.

There are surveyors out there running with older equipment, especially other makes that don't perform software and firmware updates at all.
They could not update even if they wanted and PAID for it because the makers of that equipment don't support the old stuff.
It seems that this issue could cause some problems for them?
Makes me appreciate my Javad equipment even more
