Not Really Looking For Trouble...

Getting on the job site, doing a UHF frequency scan and detecting a neighboring surveying operation underway on 462.400, I began wondering how to determine the neighboring BASE's location. I tried a couple of things that seemed obvious, but gave up after probably too short of time ... really none of my business anyway, but still it seemed like the possibility of determining its location with the Triumph-LS was plausible - was I mistaken?

you'd have to match all of their communication settings, but sure, it's part of the broadcast.
You mean that you can divine all of their broadcast communication settings ? I tried guessing, but their like there could multiple permutations like a combination lock. Have you done it?

No, I'm not saying I can divine their settings and no, I've never done it. You asked if it was possible.

A directional antenna with continuous, instantaneous measurement on the offending frequency would make it pretty obvious (assuming they had the strongest signal). You could follow to the source.
